ok i gave it another go this morning and it worked. Just had to take a few good hammer shots to the wrench to get it loose.

has anyone used the amsoil filter rather than the honda oil filter? I am assuming that it would be better.

the honda oil filters (AO2) are made by honeywell/fram. basically the same fram stuff u find at wally world (orange filters) and ive heard theyre not the best. i hear also that amsoil is the best filter around. but u pay the price. also u can use it longer... so price might pay off

Yeah.. I def think it is worth the price. I remember reading somewhere that you should never use fram filters bc they are not good. I think I will get the amsoil for my next change.

Amsoil and Mobil 1 are really good oil filters. You can't get either of those at Wally World. Haha

haha...on second thought maybe i should stick with the honda filter just in case i have to go back to the dealer for any reason.

Has anyone used another oil filter and went to the dealer? any issues with that?

I've seen Mobil 1 oil at Walmart but not the oil filters. I'm in Virginia Beach and they only have the Fram oil filters. Where you located?
