Its to "sand" down the bushing or "ring" to make it fit.

I prefer grease (and slow tapping) to insert the bushing in the ring as it wont screw up the surfaces, this is why we DONT include it in our kits.

Has any one tried the shortened shifter on the gear-stick? Does TWM has such a kit?

I just installed my bushings lastnite... Granted only have 900 miles on my sedan but... I just slipped the bushings on the shifter pin and slip the cable ring on it... no sanding, no grease... just slipped on.

Is it normal for the big shifter bushing to have play on the shaft it sits on? I can almost move my shifter an inch when its in gear up and down and it just moves the bushing back and forth.

it varies with the person who installs it. its not hard to do if you get it at the right angle.

so i figured out why they dont fit right. i have an 07 and ordered the 06 ones, so tai ill be sending them back monday with a note if you dont mind. not complaining, but it may be an idea to put the bushings next to one another on the item list on yer site. having an "06+" bushing without other ones around it gets kind of confusing. i wouldnt have had the problem had i read this whole thread first, but you live you learn. Grat shipping though, only two days, lol.

It doesn't jam at all! Took me 20 minutes a rubber mallet to figure that one out hehe. But these things rule in the end!
I thought of that right away simply put the bushing on 1st then the coupling then tap it in its very simple ive helped installed these on a 06 and 07 SI which they are slightly Different.

Just accept the certificate, its from GoDaddy.com, totally trustable just not pre-installed in browsers, hence the warning.
