how do you know this?

It happens because the o-ring is too small to seal the pump output. fuel will blow past that oring and you'll have less pressure when your at high duty cycle. just change the damn o-ring.

i already changed the pump with just the stock oring and no tube. i guess ill see what happens when i go to get tuned. but the oring looked big enough to me.

if you changed it out with one from the stock injectors it fits real snug. when the car is off i still have some pressure in the fuel rail after I turn off the car.

You are going to have serious fuel pressure issues bro. Don't do it. You will probably blow your motor. If you are turbo you will have a serious lean condition at high rpm and boost levels. Trust me. The fuel is going to blow back around the o-ring and back into the tank once the pressure get up there. I would NOT put that car on the dyno like that. Not only that but you are wasting your money because at the high RPM you will have to run retardedly high duty cycles and still not make any power because you will be pulling huge amounts of timing to prevent knock or preignition. I think you are absolutely NUTS to put that car on the dyno or even drive it if you're boosted.

It happened to me and Mad Monkey. He's the first guy to notice this when he did his K20/K24 frank swap. He used the stock O-ring and had serious detonation at high RPM and he wasn't even boosted. I did it too but luckily he told me about it before I finished the install. If I drove my car with the stock o-ring I would be rebuilding my motor right now.

yes my car will be boosted in a few days with the gt3076r full race kit. are the o rings the same on the stock injectors from the side the slides into the fuel rail and the side that slides into the intake manifold? im going to use Bosch ID 1000cc injectors. I dident want to swap them out until i was at the shop about to get tuned but would you be able to give me some settings i could use with flashpro and these injectors so i could swap them out now and take an o ring from my stock injectors to install the fuel pump correctly? thanks

The yellow wire on the cage is for the gauge sending unit. Check that wire or the black one that runs with it for slices. I noticed that a lot if guys that remove the sending unit are getting that yellow wire caught up somewhere and its messing up that wire. Mine had some chunks of the insulation missing. I had to use some shrink wrap to cover the copper back up. Double check all your wiring.

I posted pics of the o ring size comparison in the other Walbro thread. You can copy the code and put the photos in the original thread if you'd like.
