I've had Walbro 255 pumps before on some of my previous cars, the whine occassionally got annoying from time to time for me but I eventually got use to it. This was the sound it would make on a really hot day after a good **** kicking, BTW this isn't my video just a comparison video.

I used a flat tip screwdriver and a small hammer, just becareful with this because the lid is plastic afterall. Put the screwdriver tip onto one of the ribs. strike it lightly to rotate the lid ccw, it shouldn't take a lot of force. I could make a drawing if that helps.

You can see where the pump is located on the 8th picture. The filter is attached to the input side of the pump. LOL he called me sir.

If you want to replace the filter you have to change the entire sending unit. I think. It's actually inside the sending unit. So it's really not replaceable.

I finally got around to changing my pump to the Walbro. Once again, thanks Nick for the DIY and of course thanks Mike (my brother from another mother LOL) for your input.

hi,

can you advise EXACTLY WHERE the pump is, i.e. inside the car, or in the trunk? i have done FP swaps on miata's, never honda. i think mine is going out, as i am running quite lean, and the car go's into boost too soon.

I have some serious trunk access issues, would hate to have to remove this out of my trunk to replace FP.

please say under the back seat (2dr is what i have)

thanks

Chuck

Access is right under the back seat closer to the trunk. You might luck out and not have to remove your stereo equipment but I don't know how much room you have under all that stuff. Just remove your whole rear seat and you'll see a silver access panel, If you can get that off without removing your system then I think you should be OK.
This is the access panel I'm talking about, the top portion of this picture is towards the trunk and the lower portion is where your rear seat sits.

My whine hasn't been that bad yet, more of a sexier volume level. I have notice it does it more when its colder out.

yeah. left the seat down, between inside and the trunk, for the first time, trying to figure out where the FP is. i think the hairs on my head were swaying with the beat! talk about feeling the music.

its a bit overkill, but WTF, you only live once.
