ok im trying to decide whether i should buy the Injen CAI or the Fujita SRI
i havent heard any problems with the SRI but this CAI is the only one that i would buy (AEM = junk) and it seems like there is alot of problems with the install and fitting does it fit right???? i dont want my CAI pip being cut open by sheetmetal and i dont want it not fitting on the vibramounts i know for sure that it would perform great with the MAF sensor being in the correctly sized pipe and it getting cold air...o and btw i would use a dryflow filter because oiled filters are bad for your car (yes and if you dont believe it research it) just thought you guys could give me some feedback thanks (ps the only thing holding me back from getting the SRI is the reason that i wont add any power lol) |

Thanks for all the information on the install. The almighty Google lead me to this and tomasro's article.
I picked up an Injen CAI from StreetSide Auto for $275 and looking forward to installing on my '09 LX-S tomorrow.

This can be done with the front bumper on the car, you can pull back the drivers fenderliner and then jack the car a bit and go from there. Also make sure that you have midget hands.

Install went fantastic, thanks for the great write up. I would add one very important step to the beginning of the doc.
Step #1 - After unpacking your CAI use a bath towel to clean the inside of both pipes. Twist the towel through each pipe until you can remove it from the opposite end. Metal flakes may be left in the pipes from machining. Pay close attention to the area where the sensor in mounted. Thanks again. |
