Unorthodox Pulley Set for the SI...Info on Install.......

Alright, here's some information on the Unorthodox Pulley Set. Unlike the NST Pulley set which is waaaayyy underdriven (as you can see in the other thread), surprisingly, the Unorthodox Pulley Set is VERY slightly underdriven. The underdrive is not bad because you can use your old stock belt with this pulley set. The Gates K070640 WILL NOT work on the car because it is TOO tight. Here are some specs for both stock and the Unorthodox pulley sets :

Stock :

Crank Width - 5 13/16
Crank Weight - 4.5 lbs. (some say its the same as the RSX and RSX-S which is 24 oz, not true as you can see)
Alternator Width - 2 9/16
Alternator Weight - 9.650 ounces

Unorthodox :

Crank Width : 4 13/16
Crank Weight : 11.685 ounces
Alternator Width : 2 5/8
Alternator Weight : 4.105 ounces

So here we have 72 ounces for the stock crank pulley vs 11.685 ounces on the Unorthodox crank pulley and 9.650 ounces for the stock alternator pulley vs 4.105 ounces on the Unorthodox alternator pulley.
I got all the weights using a Tanita scale which is one of the best on the market. Not your cheap everyday scale.

Installed the Unorthodox Pulley Set about a week ago. Disconnected the positive battery cable so the ECU can relearn itself again. It takes about 2 weeks before maximum hp is achieved with any mod. Noticed these things after the install : car idles smoother, car runs smoother, more responsive, saves gas, can pass people up on the freeway faster, takes off faster, 6th gear feels like it can keep going (no drag like the stock), vtec kicks in and its FUN TIME. Hit 133mph, shifted into 6th and it felt like it can keep going, unlike the stock (feels like its creeping). Would of kept going but I was approaching cars QUICK. The stupid drivers who drive side by side and you can't pass them, idiots. There's no dimming of the headlights or anything with all the accessories on. This is one mod that I am glad I did.
Pictures below shows the Unorthodox Alternator Pulley. I couldn't get a picture of the Unorthodox crank pulley, too far down. Bottom picture is to show this is on a SI and not any other car. Not that hard to do if you have the right tools. Takes about 1 hour with the right tools. Just for a quick note, most of my friends and I have pulley sets, some of them had it for years with no problems.

Sorry to be a troll, @$$hole or whatever you called but I prefer a dyno before and after the install. You can hit 150mph, have 40mpg, feel the engine smooth like a not started engine but if you dont post a dyno before and after the pulleys, nobody here will believe that a pulley kit helps our engine.

If everything goes fine I will be doing that type of review (before/after dyno with pulley kit mod on the K20Z3) on the upcoming weeks stay tuned.

Just be ready this will be a looooonnnnggggg thread.

No one asked for your opinion. I'll ignore the asshole remark because I OWN you already. Go ahead and be mad.
I'm just posting this up to let others know. Dyno? Not going to waste money on a dyno. For what, to show haters like you what it does. Why would I spend my money on a useless POS like you. Be glad I posted this up. OWNED! I don't care if no one believes me, as long as I know it works, its all good. Just passing on some info, take it or leave it. No one is putting a gun to your head to do the mod.

Why people goes mad without reason, I never offend you, I just tell you the truth of what is going to happen here in the following hours.

Remember the human brain can play you many things including making believe that your car is faster after doing a mod.

With all the respect but I prefer a clear/solid proof if this really works on the K20Z3, I already know that do something on the TSX engine. Also not all engines respond equally.

You and I live in a free country everyone have the right to say whatever they think. Not my problem if you don't like it.

As I said above a few weeks ago I ordered a Pulley Set and if I see that it helps our engine I will post the results.

Its cool don't worry I understand.

I bought NST. I liked the specs of 15% underdriving the crank and 15% overdriving the ALT.

Do you plan on going turbo later? Many people have told me that pulleys are not realy necessary unless you have a turbo.

I don't mean to sound like a total chod but what does it mean to underdrive the crank? I understand that overdriving increases the rotation by whatever percent of whatever is spinning but how can the crank be underdriven?

smaller pulley

Dwn4Anything-

bro i usually agree with what you say, but not on this one. Most of us really gotta see dyno sheets for this..

but it does help to have more and more people using these..

let us know if u have any problems.

If anyone needs an Unorthodox Racing pulley set PM me. I have a set in stock. I will offer a discount to the first person who buys the kit and gets a pre and post dyno.
