just installed this Badboy into mycar. Same steps except the 08 has 2 factory horns so you need to disconnect the one on the right hand side and tape it with electrical tape.

The Accord has two a low and a hi tone. Let me know when you do the DIY for it, I'm interested. Incidentally at College Hills they sell them for $18 a piece. I'd be interested to see how a good splice job would look, or would you use a single horn?

These questions are for you, or anyone else who has installed this horn. Did you use an inline fuse? If so, what size 10amp? Also where did you place it? Any problems so far? Thanks.

I put a 20 amp(like it says in the manual that comes with it) inline fuse on my horn and one installed in a friends car. She has an lx btw, and my car is an si. However, I later realized it wasn't necessary when my friends horn stopped working soon after it was installed. It turns out the fuse for the horn in the car's fusebox blew, which is rated at 10 or 15 amps (I forget). She replaced the fuse multiple times and it keeps failing. The worst part is that the fuse controls both the horn and the rear tail lights, so when the horn stops working so do your brake lights. I will be fixing this soon by putting a relay in and directly getting power from the battery, not the original horn power wire. I will use the horn power wire to switch the relay on and off.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I just looked in the owners manual, and the horn and stop lights are on the same 15amp fuse.... Are you having trouble with yours(Si)? You said that you installed a 20amp fuse in both of your horn installations, correct? Did you place them(fuses) in an area that you can get to without having to take off the bumper? In your friend's car, have you tried replacing the 20amp fuse with a 10amp fuse? That way, when it blew, brake lights would remain just the horn would go out.... I think. I'm gonna try it within the next couple of days. As long as the 10amp fuse is placed between the horn and oem fuse box, it should go first I think. I think when you use the 20amp fuse(horn), the 15amp fuse(horn/stop) in the oem fuse box goes first. Then no stop lights... I'm hoping the 10amp fuse won't just blow as soon as it's used...

What would happen if I pulled the 15amp(horn/stop) fuse from the underhood fusebox, and replaced it with a 20amp fuse?

My friend was doing that and I told her not to as it may cause a problem with the fusebox or other car electronics. A 15 was put there for a reason. As far as putting a 10 amp fuse inline before the fusebox, it should work, but may blow a lot. My Si has not had any problems since I installed it, and the inline fuse is not in a reachable spot. If it goes (which it won't because the 15 in the fusebox would go first) I'd have to take off the bumper to replace it.

TigerDave,

Great DIY. I bought the same airhorn and your DIY was perfect.

Only one thing. Since I have the FA5 (Sedan SI) there is no 10mm bolt in front of the front tires to take off.

thanks.

How long have you had this installed? No problems(blown fuse) when you honk the horn and press the brakes at the same time? What year is your car? Thanks for any info you have....

Just installed it today. Blown it a few times and no problems. Would not know why stepping on the brakes and blowing the horn would blow the fuse. I believe if you install the switch then you need a fuse.

If it happens to me I will place a 20 fuse like the instructions say.

I will let you know.
