Yea, you pop out the middle and the whole thing pulls right out. Most of the time. I chipped a couple too!

Awesome post, CivicWithNav. I replaced my horn this past weekend with the MaxiSound and the difference is like night and day.
I built my only wiring harness using Crimp-On Quick-Disconnects which made the installation a lot quicker and cleaner.

I read somewhere that the dual horn setup from an Odyssey will fit the stock wiring connections.

Anyone else read anything similar?

Interesting... the sub-compact Fit horn is louder than the Civic??

hey the fit is utilitarian really, a functional but cute vehicle, the si is a sports cars, and real sports cars often have wimpy horns, i guess to embody lightness etc. Think of like a ferrari for example, esp older models. you've got the exaust to send out some real noise.

It's not heavy at all. Only issue is it is a little awkward for only one person. It's possible, but you may end up dropping it.

I just did this mod... Thanks for the helpful pix!
I bought a low tone horn from Pep boys for $20 and spliced it onto the existing horn line like you did... Then I mounted it right beside the original horn, so I got the low tone from the new horn, and the high tone from the original. Sounds much better.

Thanks for the help

Anyone have the part number for that little wiring harness that runs to the horn from the connector in front of the radiator? I would like to wire it all up before I tear the bumper off. I am going to have it trigger a relay that will then power my hella horns straight off the battery. More power, more sound .
