What? The key still needs to be in, and in position II for it to start.

thanks....omg a year!!! i got so excited i actually had time to hook it up the next day....it took me about an hour and a half.....this DIY helped me alot and made it quick and easy for me thanks guys the only thing i really did differently with my set up was that i hooked up the constant 12v wire to my brake for safety so u have to have the key in a press the clutch and brake pedal to use the button, but i hate the fact the button lite turns on everytime u hit the brake...owell safety first

If want like that, why not just buy JDM type-r start button with panel.
only about $90 shipped to US from Civic FD Type-R Mugen Parts and Gear
plug and play

you can get the whole shabang at jdmland.com for $230. That comes w/ the wiring harness and everything. Not worth IMO.

I thing if you connect it to the cig lighter it turns on with the other interior lights and if you connect it to the 12V wire you will have it on all the time

Is there anything vital behind where you guys are drilling that I should move? I'll be doing this modification within the week and I don't want to hit a harness or something behind the panel.

You have to take the panel off anyway. In order to take the hazard button out all of the panels have to be removed.

Where are you planning on drilling a hole in the first place? And even if you could drill a hole without hitting some wires or what not how are you suppose to put the button and wire everything without taking the panel off?
