To add to what you said, BCJ, DEFINITELY use solder... tapping ignition wires requires a very safe and secure connection. Only soldered connections will give you that.

I know some people were asking about how the key works with the push button, if you need to turn the key or just put it in the ignition, etc. etc.
Here's a quick video that should pretty much cover it all. A video's worth a thousand pictures :)

*EDIT* Sorry for the crappy lighting... I took the video a few minutes ago and it's kind of dark out.

Yeah I did the solder at all of my connections, its a pain in the butt but you can do it, also to tap into the back of the S2000 push button you are use a computer plug that would plug in the to the back of a disk drive, same size and fits right in. I didnt do it but I have seen a picture of it.

Like this

I did mine this way so that it would make it easy to unplug the starter next time I remove the dash.

Yea, you can put it anywhere you want. If you tight on space, just cut the plastic and solder your wires to the board inside.

^^ Nice... I toyed with the idea of putting it there like the s2k like you've done, but I decided to move the hazards there instead. I wanted it close to the ignition, and I wanted people to be able to see it too... I'll be honest on that one :)

That's crazy... you don't need all that. All you need is the start button, a 30A relay, that floppy drive cable that Jepetto mentioned and some wires. Total cost should be like $50-$60.

Actual connectors would be better, but definitely not worth the extra $150 IMO. Anyone with average soldering/electrical skill can make a solid electrical connection equal in safety to any connector.

Good point... for some reason that I'm still not sure of, I had no worries about drilling a hole in my dash for the hazards or running extra wiring. Although I did start sweating a bit when it came time to cut the ignition wire :)
