actually looking at that diagram I wired mine differently so I guess I cant just add in the relay. I spliced right in to the ignition wires, pos, neg and then ran the ground. Would an in line fuse be a good idea in my case?

I wanted to try and integrate the systems so that I didnt need the key but it still needed to be in the car. so that it was more like the "keless" in the new cars, I was thinking that you would have to move the receiver for the chip to the center consul. Any one think this would work? What size fuse should I put in line? one on each Pos, neg and grnd.

you still need the key to unlock the steering wheel... and also the accessory, and since our steering wheel also electrical, (electronic assist) you also need to hack the security of the car to make the steering work.

well how close dose the key need to be to the receiver? Figure that out and then move the receiver to the center consul, but you would have to have one additional button or switch I would think to activate the acc. or the start position. Unless you got a relay that was also an on off switch so that you could push it again to turn off the car.

every car with keyless start that i've driven (lexus IS, acura RL, mercedes cl65amg...that's all i could think of now) usually went something like this.....

u jump in and turn this thing, normally located where the key would go...
and start the car with the key in ur pocket...

after i thought about it....it makes no sense to do this b/c u still have to turn something....the only advantage would be to be able to keep the key in ur pocket....

yeah I think there has to be some type of switch so that if you just need to roll up a window you dont have to start the car.

yup..and that key card have some have some kind of infrared that once its in the location of the car the security alarm will be disabled and unlock the steering wheel as well... i have something in mind in the near future about this stuff but not that keyless start system..its more in secutiy of the car but i still have to use the key so i can unlock the streering wheel...

WIRING THE PRONGS???

How did you wire the actual wires to the little prongs???? Did you use butt connectors or something??? or did you just wrap the wire around the prong and solder the wire to the prong and heat strinked it?????

I seriously doubt a keyless start could be made to work without some serious electronic hacking and modification. The keys in the civic do not use RF technology in any way. There's no receiver in the car; the key coding verification done by the ECU is completely done by a direct electrical connection to the key (you could check this by getting an ordinary key copy, then attempting to start the car with it, with the original key close by... the car wouldn't start).
Therefore, to do a keyless start, you would have to build an RF transmitter chip into the key, and a receiver chip into the ingition electronics somehow. And if you could somehow do that, then you'd still have to figure out a way to modify the ignition cylinder to get it to turn and unlock the steering column without the key, which is a near impossibility.
