DIY: push start button ( wiring diagram)

Yes, most of us buy the FD2 Start Button with Plate.
Then we do the install.

Even with S2000 Start Button, wiring is same as in this Thread.
I don't think the S2000 Button lights up though.

This guy on eBay sells the FD2 Start Button with Housing for cheap:

Coupes can't use the Plate though.
That is why Coupe drivers drill hole.

This is the piece that needs to come off....


Then it will look like this...


Take only these 2 screws to get the radio off....


Then there's only one screw to take off for the other dash piece....


everything else is just clips.....ohh and the plugs that's on the radio, etc....

I didn't take my steering column off but that piece only has I think 3 screws and it just snaps off....

ive found those screws.. but the problem is.. i cant get them off
do i use a philips screwdriver and brute force it? theyre REALLY tight...
im a girl so im weak.. should i get a guy to help me with it?

the s2k button lights up! but just the words

reading through all these posts just makes me want to add this feature so bad.. adding it to my list of future mods. hopefully i can get it for a good price though..

the size wire to use will depend on on the amount of current that your fuse is letting pass though. I would not go below these numbers here:

Fuse - guage
7.5 - 21
10 - 19
15 - 18

there is a option to connect the pin-2, either to the acc +12v or brake pedal +12v signal.
By using acc signal, the push button is always stanby to ignition once the key is on acc, this giving the potential to accidentally press on the button and crank the ignition again even after the engine already being started.
By using the brake pedal signal, ignition only happen when u press on brake pedal and the start button together, it prevent accidentally ignition as mentioned above.

Once thing i noticed that, the red led very dim, not bright enough.

ok so i figured out that the right one is definitely the one to the floppy drive but my problem is it only has 4 wires and not 5 like in this picture.



so will this work or no?

I opened up another old computer and it only had 4 wires as well.

*note that the quick disconnects come w/ male and female ends. You will only need the female ends which look like this:

Got my S2K PSB working last week, pretty neat. I put mine where the hazard button was.

Found one solution to the Hazard light relocation. Saw this thread and it gave me the idea:

I have a FG1, with no fogs or VSA, so there's an empty slot right by my mirror controls. I bought a VSA button from my dealership for $10. Swapped some of the parts of the hazard button to the VSA button and put it in the empty slot.

Pros:
-No drilling into the dash

Cons:
-An additional $10 for the switch
-Have to extend the hazard wires to reach new location
-Wrong labeling on the button

the two under the radio are both phillips and a 8mm socket, I take them out only with a 8mm socket not the screwdriver as they are a pain in the ass.

if he has a coupe then yeah he'd have to move the controls somewhere else.. but if he has a sedan, then the vsa is the only thing there unless he has aftermarket fogs, then theres gonna be a switch for that too
