No the LED behind the start button isn't lighting up but I don't have it hooked up to light up.

The key is in the II position and the clutch was pressed in.

I thought I heard a slight noise but I thought it was just my imagination.

Well I'm going back today we did this at the circuit city install shop since that's where my friend works and he just looked up the wiring from their database and checked it to make sure it was a 12v wire and it was. I'm going back there tonight so we can have another go at it. I guess we'll try using the blue for power instead of the orange, can't hurt to try.

The LED inside the button is connected to the 12V input. If this is not lighting up then there is a problem with your 12v input or ground.

nope, thats a different button. If you open the button up you can see that those two pins actually go to nothing. I'll try and get a picture posted later. This is also why I recommend using a power source that you can turn off else your led will constantly stay on.

Probably not, unless you ran a lot of amps though it by accident. There is really nothing to the internals, just pipes.

Double check your connections and a militmeter can be a life saver if you have one. If you don't, go buy one.

A militmeter checks the volts right? We were using that all night. We blew a fuse we had because a ground and the 12v power wire touched so hopefully it didn't mess up the button. I'll make sure we check all connections again tonight. Thanks

A mulitmeter can check Voltage, Amps, and Resistance. All useful info

If you want to test your button, hook up your power and ground to the button. Touch the output of the button with the positive connection of the multimeter and make sure the the negative connection of the multimeter is in contact with a good grounding point. Press the button and you should see the multimeter spike from 0 to 12v.

Ok I'm back up at my circuit city roadshop and we're going to attempt this again. Oh and it was an accessory wire that we hooked the 12v power to and my friend said it's the same as the cig. wire
