I guess ill get in on this one.. but i am going to do the bypass switch just in case my wife drives my car.. i have seen her try to start my car about 15 times without pushing in the clutch. i dont keep my car in gear ever but as you all know it doesnt take much to hit it the right way and it go into 3rd or 4th.

why are people bugging about the clutch bypass? I have an alarm on my car that is designed for Manual Transmission Remote Starts w/ Turbo Timer (built in) and this is similar to the same principle of the remote start system.

only problem is, my car recognizes that if the car is in gear and the e-brake is not up, it won't allow me to remote start it.

take this DIY for what it is... A cool little way to get away with not pressing your clutch to start the car, and an easier way to make a push button starter work.

she took the time to do it, stop bashing it, stop hating on it, appreciate her for her efforts. This is not k20.org, or clubrsx. A DIY is a benefit for the entire community. If you dont wanna do it to your car, then dont.

Anybody who knows how to drive a manual knows the POTENTIAL hazards of this mod, and it doesn't need to be brought up ten million times!!

Germany is THE $hit. Having said that, this is a good mod. Unless you have a high torque v8, i see little danger coming from this, especially if noone ever drives your car. This has coming from a guy that put a '94 Dakota V8 through a garage door and into a $45,000 Lexus, thereby pushing that Lexus into the living room. (I was like 12, whaddya want?). '94 Dakota's have no clutch override either.

Good Mod Rach.

How did you do it on a switch? do you just jam the wires in instead of the clip? I get how the paperclip works and everything, but I'd like to add some novelty with a switch. Thanks in advance.

I did this into the back side of that plug and just plugged it back into the switch connected to the pedal. Works exactly the same only you don't need tape and don't have to drive around without it unplugged.

Yeah, because it's usually safer to jump out in the middle of the road and push your car that it is to have the ability to do with the guy you quoted said. Seriously man, i wonder how stupid people are sometimes.

I tried it and it works of course. Pretty cool. I don't think i'm going to keep it though as I would be scared some idiot starts it in 1st. Plus, some of my friends can't start it b/c they don't know you have to push the clutch in order to start it or they just don't push it far enough
