It makes a lot more sense when you are looking at the yellow connector on your car. I couldn't fit my camera in at the right angle to take pics of the correct side.

Use a Mirror.

Hmmmm, that might work. I'll have to wait until the sun is out--flash+mirror=fail.

. The "proper" way would take longer--soldering and bypassing the circuit--but, hey. It's a lot easier to remove a paperclip too

I'm looking to install an alarm system with remote start. This diy is perfect. Also, slightly off topic, does our Si have a 'in gear' sensor so when I remote start, it will only start if it senses it's not in gear.

I am not sure, but this post from earlier in this thread implies that we do not have a gear sensor:

I'm assuming this mod is the same for a R18? Would this be able to pass inspection? I'm planning on doing the mod this weekend. Thanks in advance for the answer.

If they see it, no. It by-passes a safety feature, you figure it out.

eh . . . do inspectors in your state typically pull off the courtesy plate and poke around in your wiring? It's the same process for an R18, but I can't guarantee that the connector you are looking for will also be yellow.
