^^^ That's pretty nice! It's definetly not a simple install, but it's clean....

Next I'm going to add another switch to turn on and off the DRL's.

Yeah I have that fused pulled too and I think a switch would be sweet, because sometimes I'd like them on. So my plan is to add another switch right under this one in the center. But if you were to add a switch for DRL's, this is exactly what it could look like.

Strange... i know i read of a few other '08's installing at the map light location in this thread.

Yeah, I just checked all the wires up there and there are no ACC actuated positives, at least not in my Ex. There are constant positives and headlight actuated positives.

I saw the DIY thread about how to install your radar up there and they must have used a constant positive.

Read this thread, about half or 3/4th down.
DIY: radar detector hard wire

"12V when car is on. also it stays powered after you turn the ar off untill you open a door."

I didn't start my car to check the power, maybe Si is different. Worth a look.

I hardwired my V1 about a month ago. Well I will try not to kid everyone my buddy did 99% of the work for me but we tested all the wires in the sunroof and none of them worked. We ended up finding a yellow wire under the dash that works 100% great. If you pop the piece of the dash off right below the steering wheel you will see a wiring harness with a yellow wire and you can just tap right into that. All the wiring is real close and I just ran the phone chord up the pillar and over to the center of the car. I will take some pics and post them up soon.

If you have swithced power to the compass mirror, that should work fine. I believe the Si has switched power up there, but not the Ex.

The info in this thread is very accurate and very important IMHO. We thought we had two good wires up top but then when you lock the doors the wire have power to them again. That would result in your radar staying on 24/7 and I didnt want that. I would def recommend going down below to the yellow wire.

Well if you used the tap from the radar detector, there is a good chance that you cut completely through the power wire for the sunroof but there is enough contact to power the radar.

I can get some pics tonight for everyone. Been like this for about a month with no problems. Hardest part was getting everything hidden since space is so tight.
