open up the 12v plug by unscrewing it. you can find the two wires in there easily. I

Ok... I've been trying to wire up my v1 for hours and I'm about to pull my hair out.
My 08 si sedan has 10 wires in that light/sunroof harness - pink, 2 whites, light blue, dark blue, light green, dark green, red, yellow and gray.

I have 3 hot wires - one of the white ones, pink and dark blue. They are hot when the ignition is totally OFF and the doors are locked and they are also hot when the ignition is on.

NONE of the 10 wires are hot only when the ignition is on. What the F ?? Am I missing something ?

Dude, they will be hot for a couple minutes after the engine is completely shut off.

Well, I threw in the towell on tapping into the headliner harness. I ended up tapping into spot #8 in the fuse block and it works perfectly.

One thing - if anybody else is going to do it this way you might want to make sure your power cord does not cross the curtain airbag when you run it up the A pillar. It was a bitch running the cord around the end of the airbag but it would suck worse to have the bag deploy and get caught on the wire.

Well only one wire connects to one of those constants, the other wire you need to ground to a bolt up there. I can't remember the colors I did My shit a year ago.

See my above posts. I swear to christ there is no wire in that headliner harness that will work right on an 08. Go to #8 in the fuse block and save yourself alot of aggravation.

For future reference, it is better to run a direct power line to an added device rather than splicing into an existing wire.

When I got my Si window tint, I asked them to put a 5" strip along the top of my windshield....now I can place my radar detector as high as I want on the tint which kinda acts like tape. Works for me.

Or try 3M Dura-Lock (industrial strength Velcro) which works great.
