Just get the 3m dual lock stuff that was mentioned earlier. Sticks to the glass regardless of the dots. I've not had one problem with the detector falling down since using this product.

Anyone seen this wire setup?

OK,

Wired up my '06 navi sedan this PM.

The wiring for the dome/sun roof goes like this..

I have one plug with two wires, both hot 12 volt to the left side of the dome light panel, on the right side was a serious scary 12 pin or more nightmare that clearly drives the sun roof. There is a 3rd in the center that I think is related to the mike.

So I spliced into one of the wires on the left plug. one wire to the hot lead, other grounded to one of the bolts that holds the dome light contraption in.

It works, but not exactly as I expected. The power stays on even with the key out. Open or close the door, no matter what. the push button domes work, but when I get out of the car the domes do not come on or fade off (still does in back)

I'm thinking if I were to tap into the other power wire I might get normal dome lights and now power with the key off....

Any thoughts?

Dan in Dallas ....

Has anyone asked whether the power is constant from that wire? Like... if i turn off the car do i need to manually turn off my radar detector?

I have a X50 (blue) for a few years and I been considering to get a Solo S2.
I hear good and bad about that in terms of being detected.

Any reviews or thoughts on the Solo S2. I want it due to mostly being wireless but I won't go for it if it can be counter detected easily and causing me a stupid ticket and even though I live in a state (tx) where radar is permitted. I do not want to take the chance with a very bored cop.

I had the solo s2... IMHO it sucked... low sensativity and changing batteries all the time... Also you have to turn it on every time you get in the car.

would you think the dot matrix would screw up reception of the radar detector? I dont know what material it is made out of, but if it is metal based then it will definatly screw up the reception. I think im going to mount it right below my rear view mirror in the very center. Im special ordering a product called laser interceptor (its a laser jammer) when they are able to get patents for it (theres a huge patent war over those in the us right now). but its basically the best laser jammer out on there. go to guysoflidar.com and look at their tests

either that or just 1 positive wire and youll have to find your own ground to use.
