CTR Push start button DIY install w/pics and wiring diagram

I ordered and installed the Civic Type-R start button and bezel + the hazzard button.
This applies to a sedan since the coupes have the mirror controls in that spot.

This is the basic wiring diagram that I used. Its based on ones that other 8th gen users have made but I simplified it.
I borrowed that switch picture as well.
I used a fuse tap to get my +pos power (acc radio.) the -neg is a bolt near the fusebox

JDM packaging and wiring diagram!

some wiring harneses i tried...found one that fit.
i got it out of an old printer...how you do this is up to you.

close up of plug

before picture

tools and supplies (wire stripper, wire; 18-16ga for smaller stuff 14-12 for ign wires, crimps, inline taps etc.)

the lower panel pulls off and you have to get this one screw

how you make this work is somewhat up to you as well. I cut the notches so that it would snap in and then i used some ring terminals to hold it down.

looks good

getting my switch and the GND- and ACC+ leads connected to the relay..test to hear it click.

here are my connections to the IGN and 12v wires...

ran them up to the relay

tidy the wires up and get ready to re-install the dash cover

i installed the CTR hazzard switch while i was at it

here is the installed button close up

finished product in different lighting...the start button lights up but is fairly dim

Really really good..
I have a few questions:
1- Where did you get the bezel at? How much?
2- Would this small mod VOID my warranty (Electrical part.. let's say car starts to blow fuses, etc?)
3- GOOD JOB.

I have a few questions:
1- Where did you get the bezel at? How much? I got the bezel/button + the hazzard switch on ebay from the same seller....the only one that has them as far as I know about $80 for both shipped.
2- Would this small mod VOID my warranty (Electrical part.. let's say car starts to blow fuses, etc?) I dont know... If it worries you check with the dealer.
3- GOOD JOB. THANKS!

Start Button Housing (Click Here)
1A) While you're at it, might want to consider the CTR hazard switch; the CTR Upper Gauge cluster; the lower gauge cluster; and the CTR Steering Wheel which has RED stitching.

Very much will void your warranty if it is found to be the root cause all your fuses blowing out. If you however ask the stealership to do this for you, then no.

Yeah...its definetly a 56k no-go.
I could have made them a bit smaller, but its nice to see the details of your considering doing it. All of the pics are 1mb or less....my host is probably the weak link.

If your confident in your wiring skills and do a good job you dont have to worry about fuses blowing. It wouldn't void the whole car warranty but if it causes a specific problem...say a bad ignition switch it would void the warranty on that. I also doubt a dealer would install it for you.

Hey how did you run the yellow and white wires for the ignition?

like did you cut the original wire and used that clip to rerun it from the brown harness to the relay?

what happened the other part i was connected to?

ahhh...coupe owner here

I guess the only alternative for the coupe owner is drilling a hole in the dash or taking out the hazard button...
