Typically the auto manufacturers only run their manufacturing scheduling once a month. So all orders are submitted by the dealers and when the scheduling date comes around, the computer crunches through the orders and then updates the dealers. It is quite normal to have to wait a while for a build date.
Additionally, if your dealer has already gone through his/her allocation of a specific vehicle, their order can be rejected. They can then try to swap with another dealer or resubmit the order for the next scheduling run-through. |

My experience is that I was givin a build date, but the car didn't show up 3-4 weeks after it was built. So, I went to another dealership that had Civics on their lot. You'll be very lucky to get it by the end of July if it isn't built soon. I suggest calling around to other dealers in your area to see what they have.

Number 1: Make sure the deposit is Refundable. If they dont feel like getting you the car theyll just hold your money and show you a bunch of accords. Thats there routine, if you cant get the car your looking for, they show you a bunch of accords.
NUmber 2. They did the same thing with me. they said 9 weeks and its almost 4 months. I finally got a call today and im going to get my vin tomorrow, supposidly. Its not just iyou everybody purchasing a civic around this time has problems Since everybody wants to get their hands on them. |

My deposit was a hand shake and they didn't jerk me around at all.
Kinda wish they had. It gives you more leverage in negotiating for freebies/etc. If they shaft you and make you wait longer then they promised then you get all up in their grizzle and tell em what's good son *end tough guy talk*. They really don't want to have bad word of mouth publicity. |
