Got parts today at dealer...not happy

I went to the Honda of Freehold Dealer wich happens to be right next door to my job and boy what a painful experience....I waited 25min till someone finnaly helped me. I asked for an oil filter, wiperinserts, and A/C Cabin filter.
The guy behind the counter looks up parts all of the sudden he huffs and says we are out of cabin filters. WTF? How is that? At my lexus dealer we have so many they are stacked above the shelves...WTF? Then I proceded to ask about the HFP brakes....1st he says is that an accesory? Then he couldn't find them on the computer so he pulled the books out. 1st the 06 book they weren't in there...Then the 07 still nothing...I said that they have to be in the 08 catalog then cause they were just made available..... He tells me well the 08 is a different car...I was like how is that he said well it's a totlay different animal....I was like why because they added a TPWS he looked at me then pulled the book out....
He quoted me 275 for front rotors and 140 for front pads....RIP OFF! I have seen them for cheaper....

Worst experience ever....

wow im glad my dealer actually knows what to looks for. One of the techs (the one i prefer to work on my car) is actually on this site. Also they have a seprate area for parts like HFP brakes and HFP lipkit and they guy back there looks it right up for me no problem on the computer when i need some prcies along with my discount.

Most guys working on the front of the parts dept. seem to not know what they're doing.

I went to buy wipers, which you'd think they'd DEFINITELY have in stock...and I had to wait two weeks for them to receive more.

It's a Honda. It's the way it goes.

My BMW and Honda dealer are owned by the same family.

I've never had a problem at either location, both are top notch

Parts counter people are Bean counter order takers...

Walk in and say; "I need Part# 12251-P2J-004", Bam you got it or got it ordered.

Walk in and say I need a Bi-Metal Head Gasket for a D-16 for my 89 CRX; you might as well hit a deer doing 55, because thats the same look they're going to have on their face.

I dont understand why its so hard to realize how many parts there are for cars made by one company over 30 years. That not every parts counter person is going to be filmilar with every acessory or facet of one particular model of vehicle.

Also that said, markup on parts in controled by the INDEPENDENT dealer owner or General Manager. Hence why one price one place is diffrent from another. Dealers are owned by individuals or dealer groups, not by Honda MFG.

i happen to work in a lincoln dealer in the parts dept. it's not an easy job, well....looking up the parts is not the hard part, the hard part is dealing with all the price shoppers, and billy backyards who just took there head out of a chilton manual, only to ask you for something that does not exist. oh yea, and there is my favorite, housewife will call and ask you for something you have never heard of, but if you listen closely you can hear the husband screaming in the background telling her what to say. People like that i like to give what i call "the nail pricing structure"
