license plate in the front window...

For those who live in a state that requires a front plate, (specifically ohio) how legit is it to stick it in the bottom of the windshield? Will the cops give you a hard time for this or is it ok?

i'm in cali and it's required that we have one in the front, some cops will hassle you if you put it up on the windshield, in other words illegal. i'm not sure if its the same issue there.

In MD you need a front plate fixed to the front of the car. The front window won't cut it.

Im in MD as well and i know they will get you for front window. Iv heard they require front mounted plates because of the number of police departments that use laser guns, but i could be completly wrong thats just what iv heard from people.

Eh...I just decided not to have the front plate in or on the car at all. I'd rather not have the plate slicing someone's head off if I brake too hard :)

Cops would probably hassle you over it. I used to have a 94 Z28 and I had the front license plate in the windshield and the cops would pull me over at night.

It doesnt really have anything to do with the way you drive. It just gives the cops a reason to pull you over if they want to check you out.

it always has something to do with the way you drive... or how you look, or the neighborhood you're in... it is an extra reason for the cops to pull you over, but i'm just saying that i have never been pulled over for that, and i never have a front plate on my cars...

You could be driving like a grandma and the cops could pull you over for no front license plate. Good luck in that college town of Denton.

To each his own. Personally I don't want to give the cops any reason to pull me over.

i agree... i'll take my chances with cops because i'm very familiar with the boundaries they are and aren't allowed to cross... if they cross something they aren't supposed to, nothing they try to put on me will stick...

here its something like the plate has to be visible 38 inches from the ground or something so technically you cant get a ticket in some care, but its not really worth the risk, or time explaining the law to a cop whos trying to ticket you because hell just get pissed and write you up for something else. i hate traffic cops.
