Simple answer is you're used to the car you drive. A car will never be fast enough for me, so I just gave up. Even when I had my last car which was a mid-high 13 second car I felt it was slow after a while.

That's what I would do. Keep your car stock, pay it off, and save some money.

It used to tickle my fancy to look at a car's 0-60 time, now the MPG rating is more important to me rather than how fast it goes.

Maybe I'll turbo my Si to hold me over?
how will the Si w/ greddy turbo compete with evo/sti?
Honestly, I doubt you'd want to be seen in a STI/EVO when you're 25. I'm 23 and I'm over those cars and I use to be a HUGE HUGE subie guy.

IMO, don't waste your money on upgrading the SI, FF is a very limiting powertrain in terms of putting all that power down while turning. I bought the SI because it is fast enough for a DD while retaining some pretty decent MPG numbers and it met my price point.
Honestly, if there was a new reliable Japaneses RWD vehicle for 20K, even with 160hp, I'd buy it over an SI any day (Miata does not count). IMO, getting tail happy in a RWD vehicle puts a smile on my face everytime, whereas turning in an SI is kindof painful. Better w/ LSD but it does not come near RWD dynamics.

Trust me it is completely normal! When I first got my 02 Z28 A4 I had, it was plenty of power for me for like a month tops, and then I was getting the mod bug! After doing a couple of mods to that car *dynomouth exhaust, SLP CAI, SLP Cold Air Lid and K&N panel filter* that added 50 HP and it was still not enough.. I traded the Z28 in for my 05 GTO Yellow M6 and I was getting ready to do a cam, springs, suspension and a cat back exhaust to make more power and better handling, then I lost the car because of some crap that went down between GM/Lemon Law and my Finance company!

So now I am driving an 08 Honda Civic Si sedan and I am going to start working on my 68 Chev Truck, which once I get the LS2 and M6 out of a GTO and do the mods I wanted to do with my goat, I will have a 600+ HP truck that is smog exempt.. So I will have the best of both worlds, a ton of hp with the truck and still have my economy car with the Si.. Then after getting my truck completed, I will look at getting another GTO which for a gas hog, I can say is one of the nicest GM cars I have ever owned besides the crappy ignition switch, and clutch that came with the car, it's interior is better then a Vette, and is a comfortable car overall! The Si is just fun, fast for what it is and gets awesome gas mileage that will not suck my wallet dry!

Charlie
