FI is the answer bro. i felt the same way everytime i saw an ms3,wrx, sti, or evo. i just got me a turbo and im waiting for it to come in. dont drop 6-10 g trying to get a evo/sti. just get FI, youll be happy and itll cost you less.

But then he'll be dropping around that much for the Turbo and losing his warranty.

I think I'll wait till I hit 25 and then go to evo/sti or whatevers in that class in 5 years.
Maybe I'll turbo my Si to hold me over?
how will the Si w/ greddy turbo compete with evo/sti?

It's really hard to compare the SI with an EVO/STI. Both those cars are AWD and that alone gives them a huge advantage over your SI. Power wise you should be around 250WHP.

it all depends on the amount of boost, the mods, and the tune. some guy on here had a greddy turbo and was keeping up with an m3.

a greddy kit will cost you anywhere aroung 3k new and even less used. i dont think that can get u into an evo/sti.

It's normal and it NEVER goes away. I'm looking for some thing faster too. It's going to be a sti or a g8/gxp. No matter how fast it is you will still want to mod it. Wretched excess FTW. As mentioned in by another poster though if you want bang for the buck nothing beats two wheels. I do not recommend it for you though, unless you have exp with bikes and some self control. To many guys riding above there heads getting killed. I switched from sport bikes to a full dresser because I just don't have the self control. Splitting lanes at 135 and hitting 177 in traffic is just stupid, which is what I was, often. I think you will have major issues with insurance on a faster car like a sti though unless you are over 25 (I think that's the cut off) and married. Might want to go with the super charger on the si in this case.

I don't care what anybody says. I have a Greddy Ti-C exhaust and a drop in...And my car screams...I think the Si platform has tons of potential. I would say wait a bit and go turbo. Once more aftermarket parts come out it will be awesome and the Si will put down good numbers. People may look at the specs and be like meh 197hp 139 tq but it honestly feels faster to me.

What WOULD be unusual to find is that you were content with something you owned. At 19 or 20, THAT would be quite unreal.

considering that most evo and sti owners cant drive their car properly to attain optimal times, you would own both a sti and evo with a greddy bolt on kit. like said above, someone was keeping up with a new M3. the video was even on here and I think he won a run or two. And My friend has an 06 rsx-s with a turbo and has 300+hp on stock internals. he beats evos all the time and stis. He nets 12 sec 1/4 miles too. And the best an evo or sti can do stock is just below 13 secs. so if you boost it and know how to drive it then you will be faster than both.

When I need a fix of REAL speed, I get on my modded '05 Raven R1. The reality is that there are very few production made cars that could take me on the 1.

My .02, keep the SI, get a sportbike!

My thoughts exactly. Except I open my Si up all the time.
The truthis though, if you want to go really fast for cheap, get a sportbike.

Ugh thats becuase it is its 1 of the hottest selling cars on the planet, i get so many stares day in and day out its ridiculous and thats no exaggeration. It dosent have much TQ but with bolt on's this car moves and sounds great and ive kept up with cars i prob shouldn't have. SRY you think the car is non bad ass and slow but your wrong. It has alot of potentiol and is a blast to drive i love mine to death and you will learn to work around the 3rd gear issue for some its worse then others.

^^^ I forgot about that. Thats right. the SI is one of the best cars to buy. It was top 20. they didnt have a ranking but it was for all around cars. not just fast cars, sport cars, or economy. It was for every car type. And the third gear problem isnt that big of a deal. dealerships know about it and will fix it if you bring in the tsb or talk to someone who doesnt have their head up their ass.

I enjoy my R18 and love the stares too but if you bought the SI just so that people can see you,and to become a status symbol then there is something seriously wrong with you and your ego. I bought my Civic because it looks awesome, drives awesome and gets awesome gas mileage. I don't give a shit what other people think they can go F*ck them selves. Sure you can make the SI faster but that means having to spend an additional 2-3 thousand for parts plus labor. So an si with nav is roughly 22k+2-3k in upgrades 25-26 ish its not worth it. Grand total for parts probably 10k so an SI with those parts is probably 30k total. No thanks!

If you were deciding to wait for a faster car or turbo id wait for the faster car. the work of turbo/supercharging this car just to get it to run around where evo's and sti's are a pain in the ass. plus the fact that you will never be able to handle like an evo or sti hurts also. I say if your waiting just wait.

There will always be something faster than whatever you have. After two speeding tickets with my Si last year I came to the realization that the car is pretty fast.

Join the Airforce and be a pilot. That'll put things into perspective, then anything with wheels will seem slow.
