Are you in the Air Force too? I assumed there was a mutual respect between all men who serve the country but I guess not after your experience with this guy. Seems like he had something against you from the start.
Sorry I can't help you but I think you did a good job outlining your situation. In regards to the "exibition of speed" ticket I don't think you have to be racing or showing off to anyone, I almost got one once for flooring it from a stop in my taurus (lol) but the cop let me slide, but maybe because no one was there to see? I don't know but your story sounds legit and it sounds like this guy sucks a fat one. good luck man |

Hope your appeal get approved.
The only time I had a run in with MP was just outside an AFB where the officer would not belive that I was the driver of the car that I just spun off the road in, then he tried to give me a ticket for speeding, even though he didn't see anything. When he saw the police coming, he quickly got in his car and went back to base. What a dick.

Hey man i believe your appeal will get approved, i think you have explained yourself pretty well and have the prove to back your word. Also if the Sgt is present at the time of the appeal (dont talk directly to him) that way you can avoid any confrontation with him. Mostlikely he will try to make upset so you can show your bad side to the person conducting the appeal. Also you have to keep in mind that you where pretty behave in the situation based on all the acusations made by the Sgt at the time. If that would it be me i would've flip out on him big time. Good luck man.

From a vet - thanks for serving and good luck with your case. On the base I work at the MPs are known for giving out speeding tix if you're 1mph over the limit on several specific roads. Someone asked earlier if you should be cut some slack by a fellow serviceperson. From my experience that doesn't count for jack on a base, but police officers (not on a mil base) will generally give servicepeople/veterans a break.

Why...so...serious?

Okay Mobius, I had planned on coming back and reading this today. I'm awake, full of food and in my right mind.
![]() The SSGT is an idiot and speaking of disgrace, perhaps he needs to return to Lackland for some refresher training. His attitude alone suggests that he knows little of his job and much of his ego. Individuals like this embarrass me and I'm not even in the same branch. Apparently this base upon which you are stationed has lower standards for it's MPs to follow. I have worked withe some really unique individuals as an MA in the Navy but even some of our least cooperative aren't that bad. I wish you the best with this. I think you are in the right to do appeal this as such. The SSgt was/is wrong and needs to have his knowledge of the law as well as his attitude corrected. That is an excellent write up. |

One of the first things I was told when I got my internship on the AFB was to strictly obey all traffic laws on base. Everyone else must have been told the same thing cause when I would get on base, everyone drove THE SPEED LIMIT, stopped at every stop sign accordingly, NEVER ran a red light or anything... it was like safety school.
If you think about it tho, that's how they HAVE to do it. Think if you would have accidentally hit someone. I know you probably wouldn't have and even if so, you wouldn't have killed them... but think about if you did. And that got out to the media. That would look AWEFUL for the armed forces and government. And with my opinion of the government, that would just be re-enforcement. Sorry about your situation. I hope everything gets cleared up for you and you only get what you deserve. |

Good luck man, I think you are going to need it. You admit to failing to stop at the sign (sorry man but stop is not an acronym for Short Tap On Pedal, even though we all do it) so that ticket will stand. As far as lacking proof of insurance , it is your responsibility to have it in your vehicle so you are probably SOL on that one. As far as exhibition of speed, doing things like flooring it, redlining, VTECing, tire smoking, and burnouts are all frowned upon police and apparently it's up to the officer to decide whether or not you deserve a ticket. So you may be looking at all three tickets.

If the two moving violations stand, how many points are they worth on your driving record?
