R18 is plenty fast for me.

Anyone with an R18 think the car is plenty fast? I keep reading you guys complaining that the car is slow but I guess you guys are probably comparing it to other cars. I think the fastest car I've ever driven was a G35 which was really nice so I don't know what fast is. Anyone else feel the same as I do?

i like mine for daily driving, its decent for that. as far as the fun factor goes its pretttttty slow. but up until this year i used to drag race my other civic and used to drive my buddys vete with cam intake headers exhaust and nitrous lol. so alot of decently quick cars seem slow to me. all in all i dont think its a bad motor, but its definately not one worth modifying

No, it's not. There's still plenty slower. I was driving my old '95 LX this past weekend. Not even 100hp, now that's it's so beat up. 4 people in the car, going up a hill on the freeway...THAT is slow.

its fast enough for me compared to my old daily driver. i previously had a 2001 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 V6, that thing could barely get out of it's own way. the civic really only seems slow after driving my '07 TL or my g/f's '08 Rabbit for a couple of days.

Hmm I feel my Si is not fast enough.
When I first bought it, It felt fast, it still does I just have to be over 5k rpms.
I'm hoping to eventually get an Evo or S2k when my insurance stops raping me.
I aint paying $800/mo. for an Evo sorry.

Riding = all cars I can afford seem slow

However, sometimes less is more. As they say, its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

btw, my bike has more HP than some of my friend's cars

There's a lot of truth to that statement. What's the use of going uber-fast? It's funner if the car has to be punished to get going quickly.

Thats one of the reasons I love the Si, its quick but I can still shift at 5.5k and slam through the gears without getting arrested 2 seconds later.

Besides, to me the handling of the vehicle is much more important than the power.

Yeah, exactly. I love driving the Si because there's a lack of power...but that means I can generally get away with more "exciting" driving because of that. I can't just blip the throttle in 5th like an Evo and suddenly be doing 239753296423947329843274 mph.

sounds more like a self control issue than actually having the car that can do it. and the Evo can handle so i dont think that is a good versus. :/
