jk, never had someone say the r18 is slower than chevy's Fit rival.
Haha, I'm sure it isn't, but when I test drove the R18, it just felt a little more sluggish, that's all.

Granted, I didn't drive it hard like I did the Aveo.

Since i signed up in the website,100% of posts about R18 includes people with Si (which is the majority..) insulting R18 owners and their cars clearly, for being "slow".

Mr. Si owner, your car is NOT fast,

your car IS faster than the R18 sure, but that doesnt give you the rights to help you feel fast and not regret your purchase...by insulting the R18 !

your car will never ever beat any "sporty" car out there..so please chill and stay cool with others, its not expensive, its not fast..simply a CIVIC+Some power .

backtrack buddy, no one on the forums ever mentioned that SI was fast, you keep assuming then guess what? you make an ASS of yoU and ME. I hope they taught you how to read english in your country because your clearly not getting it.

no one here ever bagged on an r18, majority of 8th gen owners out there are R18's and it wouldnt make sense to insult them. you interpret our stating facts about your r18 and make yourself believe its an insult.

FOR example.. a R18 cannot beat a Odyssey.. then your ego goes down because your little car cant beat a van. then you start believing its an insult, when its clearly just facts.

a r18 = econo car PERIOD

a SI = civic thats sport enhanced to for a more "sporty" and enjoyable feel.

now stop bickering.. this thread has clearly gone down the pooper.

08' Odyssey:
0-60 mph 8.50 seconds
1/4 mile 16.39 seconds at 88.41 mph

07' Civic:
0-60 mph 7.92 seconds
1/4 mile 16.14 seconds at 89.57 mph

per Cars.com.

I retract my previous statement, Its VERY possible the civic can lose, now believe it.

Cars.com is unbiased buddy, you want to take your car to the track against an Odyssey, film it and prove that your car is faster then a minivan? I'd love to see the outcome.

7.92 is pretty good for a 15k car.
But when I used the Odyssey for comparison, I pitted it against an Automatic Civic EX which looks more like this...
Civic EX 5A
0 - 30 (sec): 3.5
0 - 45 (sec): 6.2
0 - 60 (sec): 9.6
0 - 75 (sec): 14.6
1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 17.1 @ 81.7
2006 Economy Sedan Comparison Test: Honda Civic vs. Mazda 3

08 Odyssey Touring
0-60 mph acceleration, sec. 8.7
Quarter-mile acceleration, sec. 16.9
Quarter-mile speed, mph 82.4
2008 Comparison Test: Crossover vs. Minivan vs. SUV

So yea, the R18 is slower than the Odyssey... but it's nothing to get all bent out of shape about. The Odyssey has a better Weight/Power ratio, a Grunty SOHC engine, costs $10k more, and get piss poor gas mileage because of it. All I'm saying is the R18 can be considered fast enough for it's price range (although not the fastest), but it is by no means fast. As a matter of fact, the SI is by no means fast either.
