Your right, you didn't say any thing about R18vs.Si, but you did bring up an argument from last night after everyone else agreed to stop arguing. As for the mods and finacing. My car is not financed, I had $18,000 (don't ask me where I got it because it's non of your business). My choice was either buy an LX outright or get an Si and owe $6000. I chose the LX because the dealer had one I liked. None of the dealers in town had an Si. They said they could charge me $3000 to $3500 over sticker to put me on the waiting list, I said no and they said fine, no Si for you, they were in no hurry to sell one. I also chose the LX because I didn't want the added pressure of car payments (I'm a full time college student right now, I don't have a real job, just something to pay for gas and insurance.) I also chose the LX because I needed a car, so I didn't have time to sit on a waiting list. You asked before, why not some thing cheaper? Because I wanted a two door civic. I also wanted a manual. The dealer just happened to have one on the lot that had just come off the truck. Also you seem to think that the vehicles cost was the only thing I am talking about when I say I couldn't afford it. My insurance company said that they would charge me $1000 more a year for an Si vs. an LX (probably because I'm a young male).

As far as the mods, I didn't buy them all at the same time, I bought them over a spread out period of time, whenever I got some extra cash, usually for christmas and birthdays.

lol wtf? did i ever ask? i dont care!

oh so now u had a choice? earlier u said u just needed one ASAP.

full-time college student....i went to UF for 4 years and graduated not to long ago and had my tuition paid for by the wonderful and easy-to-get bright futures scholarship. even if you get the 75% one, the other 25% should come from other grants that you automatically get upon getting the scholarship.

im not much older than you. my insurance rates between an EX and Si was a mere 300 difference.

whatever, im done arguing.

I did need a car asap, my choice was either have a new car fully paid for or get put on a waiting list for who knows how long and owe money.
My point is that I'm busy with school and don't have alot of time to devote to paying off a fancy car. As far as insurance, I got that quote when I was 17. My rates dropped quite a bit when I turned 18 (which I didn't know would happen, sorry I don't know everything), and I do know that they will drop quite a bit again when I turn 21 (since you are 22 this could explain your lower rates)

I was done arguing last night, but you had to bring it back up.

For my insurance company they change at 21 and 25. I thought you said you were done arguing.

this is what I spent 4k on and it sure doesn't look like pocket change. Perhaps if it had wee-tach I could get out of the mud hole.

Yeah Don't listen to AllShowNoGo, he just seems like a rich snob who thinks the more debt you have the cooler you are.

He stated He paid for it out right. So He didn't have the $4000 and didn't want to finance at all. Even if he was financed 4k would have raised his payment quite a bit. like $65 bucks or so a month. thats Significant.

no i know he paid the car off up front. we were talking about something earlier how there was a maybe $4k trade off between the lx and Si. to me, $4k more for a higher trim doesn't seem bad at all for a trade-off.

to each his own.

as far as the paying interest comment, even though i ALWAYS strive for the lower interest rate, i still tend to favor it, as that interest is the driving force of building my credit score (ie a good credit score is NOT free).

Healthy debt means your debt is controllable not that it is good. I'm sorry I called you a snob, but you have been a jerk toward me since your first post directed towards me, why?
