The R18 is nice and slow and so is the SI. But i want something faster. The SI is too slow. Splew just tell fee to stfu. I could easily afford an si but you know why i didn't get it? the tranny in the SI completely sucks nuts and i don't want to pay premium fuel on a slow car (SI)

people are comparing fruits and vegetables when comparing the k20 and r18, IMO, as the k20 is leaning towards the sports/performance side, whereas the r18 is leaning towards the economy side. i am NOT saying that the Si is a sports car, but rather sports inclined. for the r18 owners, yes our Si's are that much faster than ur r18's and for us Si owners, our cars are not as fast as some of us may think.

its faster than ur r18. someone earlier mentioned that r18 owners dont need Si owners to diss r18s, well us Si owners dont need r18 owners to diss on our cars either.

and btw, not all trannies in the Si are affected. i have an 07 Si and have NO problems whatsoever.

Wow, where did all you Si guys get the idea that all the R18 owners bought their car because we thought it was better? WE BOUGHT THE R18 BECAUSE IT WAS CHEAPER. How hard is that for you guys to understand?

The whole reason R18 owners start these threads is to focus on the positive points of our cars. We don't need all you douche bags posting about how your Si is so much better than all the R18 threads.

So as a general guideline, if you drive an Si, don't post anything in R18 threads unless it's positive, because it's no different than a guy driving a Ferrari laughing at a guy driving a Daewoo.
ok, there are PLENTY of other honda dealers that you could have gone to, other than the ones in jacksonville. so you saying that u can't get a good deal around ur area is entirely YOUR fault. either that or you just dont know how to negotiate prices.

So If you don't have anything positive to say on R18 threads then stay the hell out of R18 threads and stop rubbing in how lucky you are to have a better, more expensive car.
ok junior, i'll try to clear this up for you... I REALIZE THAT YOU DRIVE AN SI BECAUSE YOU CAN'T AFFORD ONE (do you feel better now?)

you don't seem to understand what i've been saying... there are many r18 owners on here that have been touting that their car is superior due to the reasons i've listed... those are the people i have addressed.

if you don't have any cogent to say, then how about you just stay the hell out of all threads? give directions to your dog, not me, skippy...

I have an Si and I like the R18's myself but for all of you R18 owners, Good thing you bought your Ex's cause with these damn 3rd gear problems on the Si's,...You're lucky you didn't buy the Si and end up having these tranny problems.

allshownogo.. +1, and civvexjon bought his car in March 06.. I wonder how he even knew about the 3rd gear problems when the car was barely just released hm? sounds like an another excuse to not buy an SI. and I guess he bought an r18 since the slower car is better to drive then a SUPER SLOW SI.

btw some r18 owners here just didnt get an SI since they cant drive manual. 90% of r18 owners are automatic, tells something right? oh and most were given to them by their parents also.

are those aftermarket rims on ur car in ur avatar pic? for the price you paid for those rims/tires, u probably could have applied toward ur car payment on an Si.

my response was toward you saying the SI is slow, i agree but you wanted "something faster" so it doesnt correspond with you buying an r18. buddy dont say you want a faster car and then say the si is slow and go out and purchase the SLOWER car.

i have an r18, i enjoy it around th ecity, but imo from engine to interior, the si is a superior car. the only reason i didnt get one is because i have a year of college left and didnt want the extra money on my payment everymonth. when i trade my car in after school, i plan on an si.

and as far as the mpg, my built ls vtec needs premium and gets barely 22 mpg. but the amount of fun i have in that car is well worth the price of filling up more than somebody with a single cam.

to each is own, everybody has a sense of pride about their cars. but why cant we just leave it at opinions rather than turning it into a shooting match.

btw why wasnt this just posted in si thread. seeing as how it was directed towards si owners

I hope I didn't come off as dissing any trim of the Civic. I love the Ex's. I wouldn't go any lower than the Ex but i'd totally rock an Ex with the HFP lip kit.

My R18 would HAVE to be MANUAL though. Nothing beats manual driving.

Does anyone have a video clip of someone driving the Ex fast or maybe hitting vtec?. Do the Ex's even hit Vtec?.

Just end this pointless argument right now. Remember we are all driving CIVICS! get that through your hollow skulls SI owners (some SI owners) what makes you better than us? NOTHING! you get less MPG and you have to pay premium plus you have to deal with a fussy transmission no thanks! my 5spd auto shifts smoother and better than the SI's manual. Alot of R18 owners simply don't want the SI,it's not that they cant afford it,its that they don't want it or need it. They want something with great MPG and a good daily driver vs the SI's harsh suspension and flawed manual transmission. Face it SI owners the SI is slow and stop thinking you're bad ass or something because you have an SI because you're not. It seems like alot of SI owners bought the SI just so they can be a status symbol which is very sad. They think that dissing R18 owners will make them feel good about theirselves, because they have an SI,"ooo look at me i have an SI im better then you R18 owners ooo ahh bs bs bs".That doesn't mean jack shit,i say "look at me im getting better MPG then you,and i don't have to deal with a flawed transmission!" Both Civics have flaws DEAL WITH IT! it's mostly the SI though.
