Rear Suspension Noise

Just wanted to give you all a heads up. This seems to be a common problem:

I've seen several posts about people complaining of noise in the rear suspension. Specifically, its a sort of popping noise, and it's audible only when almost at a complete stop (such as when braking or releasing the clutch, and in reverse). I noticed this in my 08 SI Sedan about 2 weeks ago (the car only has about 4600 miles on it). I took it this morning to the dealer where I bought the car, and they said it is the strut assembly. They actually took pretty good care of me: they were prompt, courteous, and offered to overnight the parts if I left the car at the dealer till tommorow. I also had the oil changed while I was at it. They are going to change both rear assemblies. Lets see how this turns out...hopefully they get this taken care of soon. I wouldn't be surprised if Honda issue a TSB or something on this in the near future, since it seems to be common.

just got my car today. although the service manager offered to keep it overnight on tuesday (and have the parts overnighted to fix the car wednesday), i decided to take the car home. the parts were ordered, and I got called by the dealership on thursday afternoon. I brought it in this morning, and less than three hours later the car was ready. they weren't able to road test it, due to weather conditions, but the noise seems to be gone, although I haven't driven much.

overall, I am very satisfied with the service and promptness of the dealer, so if you live in the DC area, i'd recommend Ourisman in Bethesda, MD for service.
