Unhappy Hit and run =[

Yesterday was probably the sadest day of my life with my new fa5. I went to the grocery store to get some eggs and when i came back to my car, i saw a HUGE scratch on my lower rear bumper. looks like i got hit and run guys... since there was no paint transfer and the damage was so low, i assume that it was a truck with a hitch. this sucks so bad. i told the manager at the store and he said he would check the video tapes and get back to me today. the police officer said most insurance companies would only waive the deductible if they know the 2nd party so they can charge him for hit and run but i dont know. so i dont know if i should go to through the insurance, pay myself or just get the hfp lip kit for it. i was furious.

That pisses me off too. These people need to be shot, no room for people in this world that can just hit someones car, cause 100s of dollars of damage, and then just leave and not own up to it.

sounds like the same thing that happened to me.
came out of the mall and there was a huge scratch and
my bumper was cracked. came out to almost $3000 in damages
going through the insurance and only paying the $500 deductible.
even tho i didnt pay it....

I'd get it fixed. I like the HFP lip, but even if it was covered up by it, it'd drive me insane to know there is damage underneath the lip.

if the insurance does fix, i would get a new bumper for it because its significant enough to do so...it will help the resale value of the car also since the bumper is worth about like 600 bucks. i know i can get the lip kit off of college hills, (front+rear no skirts) for that price, but if it was through insurance, i would get a new stock bumper for it. yeah these people do need to get shot. bastards.

I had a hit and run too, no pics though, damage wasn't too bad. It turns out the driver was like 14, no license, no insurance, F-ing B.S.

damn, that sucks. I'm not trying to be racist or anything but when my family used to own a liquor store in LA (Huntington Park to be exact) we experienced so many hit and runs within that mexican community. it totalled over 6000 dollars worth of damage. Our cars had never been scratch or dented ever before when we lived in the bay area. my car also got rear ended while i was stopped at a red light. it sucks, because you work so hard for your ride and to keep it in top shape but if you're not messin up your car somebody else will.

Damn man sorry to hear about that. I'm extremely paranoid whenever I park my car in an open parking lot lol.
You should check a body shop for replacement cost and compare it to your deductible.

Yeah, it sucked. I felt like crying and slitting the ass holes throat when I saw my shiny new car all smashed up from some ass hole... The bad part is I'm a very paranoid parker and park far away from people all the time, but this gave someone the opportunity to get a running start in reverse and smash into my car. Then a few weeks after I got it fixed someone else tagged the corner of the new bumper. Didn't dent it but put a scuff in it. I was at the bank where it was impossible to park away from people. People SUCK at driving.

Do you know if you are going through insurance or not? At least it's just your bumper. My fender, bumper and hood had to be repainted. They did a good job but I was really worried.
