ATTN: 0.9% for 36 mo. and 2.9% for 60 mo. NOW!!!!

Just got an email in my inbox from a Honda dealer. States 0.9% for 36 months and 2.9% for 60 months. For those of you familiar with Honda, you know this is only the 2nd time since they intro'd the 8th civic back in the fall of '05 that they've offered 2.9% for 60 months on new civics. This may or may not be a regional offer, and is most likely limited time, so call your dealer quickly.

For those of you looking to buy a new civic, this is the time. Getting 2.9 vs. 4.9 over 60 month term is approx $1400 savings on a new Si with 0 down. Credit score needed is usually around a 710 or higher, but check with your local dealer.

Work with the internet sales dept for up front pricing and full disclosure...i.e. no BS.

Any questions, or serious buyers, check out my car buying blog by me, a former Honda new car salesperson @ MySpace.com - dave - 33 - Male - ENCINITAS, US - www.myspace.com/speedgsx98

BTW, get the Si! I have an EX and an Si. The Si spanks the Ex.

if you are in the market for a new civic, now might be the time to buy with financing like this.......

do it.......do it

i have learned yet again what to do with my next car purchase wait for special interest rates. mine isn't terrible (7.49)......but it could be better.

The email I got from the dealer mentioned the civic specifically. Other models may have some special finance rates. For example, the pilot and the element are slow movers as well as the ridgeline.

BTW, I got a great deal on both a hybrid and an ex civic coupe last year. I bought an Si this year in feb when they did the 2.9% for 60mo. the first time. There are usually close to 100 civics or so on an avg dealers lot here in SoCal. Only 2-5 of them are Si's. So, you may not get as smokin' of a deal on an Si as you would on an Ex, Lx. Keep that in mind. When I bought my ASM Si w/ summer tires, no navi on Feb 14th this year, it was the only one left in SoCal at the time exactly like it which is what I wanted.

You can still shop around for a deal using my method linked in the first post, just don't expect a below invoice deal on an Si. If you get one...great. But, be prepared to pay a few hundred over invoice, rather than an at or below invoice price on an ex,lx.

Good luck guys. Happy shopping!

P.S.

0 down, $23k financed (Si at a good deal in Ca with all fees, taxes incl.):

0.9% 36 months $23,320 total payments ($320 finance charges over 3 years)

2.9% 60 months $24,735 total payments ($1,735 finance charges over 5 yrs)

5.25% 60 mo. $26,200 total payments ($3,200 finance charges over 5 yrs)

7.49% 60 mo. like poster above $27,635 ($4,635 finance charges over 5 yrs)

and if you have less than perfect credit and can only get a 13.9% rate:

13.9% 60 mo. $32,040 total payments ($9,060 finance charges over 5 yrs)

My Honda said it 1.9%/36 mo (not 0.9%), 2.9%/60mo

Also according to Edmunds, this lasts until 7/7/08

I just checked Honda's website and found that this offer is available for Accords and S2000's. The deals on Civics are $199 for 36 months or something like that, and only for EX manual transmission. OP, could you please post a copy of that email you received?

Ok Edmunds does mention the deal. Maybe they just haven't posted it to their site. Thanks for sharing that info :)

Hmm, I too only see the special APR for the Accord Sedan and not the Civic Sedan on Honda's website. I was at my local Honda dealer today and noticed the 0.9%/2.9% advertised on all the accord sedans but not on the civics. Maybe it is a regional offer...

I was in the market for a Civic Sedan, but the low APR pushed me towards an Accord, but if I can get this low rate with a Civic, I'll probably go back to my original plan of getting it.

Where did this deal go? I saw it out there for one day in my region. My salesman even told me he got an email about it.

Now when I go to the website, no reference of the financing deal. My ordered FBP Sedan should be here next week. It would be nice if there was a deal for me.

Was I imaging things?

According to that the civic currently olny has lease offers not the .9 or 2.9% APR. I would still ask about it though perhaps the website hasn't been updated???
