Test drive + saw a bashed-up Civic

I test drove a LX/5spd today (drove one a few months ago as well). I'm still undecided on it vs. a 05-07 Accord (4cyl/5spd/LX on either).

After the drive the salesperson told me I had to see a wrecked 8thGen sitting at their repair shop. This was impressive. The Civic was hit hard front + rear when a car pulled in front of it. The rt rear was pushed up almost to the rear seat. Half of the rt rear tire was exposed looking down on it. The front car or part of it rode up the front of the Civic, destroying the hood, busting the glass (intact when I saw it), and causing a nice dent/crease at the forward center of the roof (sunroof intact). The Civic's driver was alone, so only the driver airbag went off. I easily opened all four doors and looked inside - no cabin intrusion could be seen. The driver walked away, only sufferring burns/cuts from the airbag.

What you'd look for in a crash like that is if the cabin itself had major deformities. The car was built to be demolished, while sending that energy around the cabin into the crash zones.

search the site for some pictures of other crashes. One guy drove of a hill side or something. Anyway his car destroyed, but he lived. Nothing too major either, i think he broke a bone though.
