NEED HELP....08 SI COUPE or 350Z

Ok, I've been a fan of honda and nissan since i first started driving. Im graduating from college, and I have saved up 8,000 dollars. What is better as far as performance and maintenance-----08 honda coupe or an 08 nissan 350z. I been thinking about it, and I cannot make up my mind. I've research everything about price and fuel, the only thing I dont know is insurance, like how much would it be on each car. I am 23 and no tickets. Any suggestions. Thanks let me know what you guys think

Well gee, you're kind of comparing apples to oranges. It really depends on how much money you want to spend, the Si coupe is around 21 or 22 grand while the average 350z is about 30 to 32 grand. The Si has a 197hp 2.0 liter 4 while the 350z has a 306hp 3.5 liter V6. The 350z is obviously way faster but it gets gas mileage in the high teens to low 20s verses mileage in the mid to high 20s for the Si. They both probably cost about the same to insure.

Get the Si, you know you want one. Both are great cars though. My friend has an 07 Z and I have an 08 Si. From what he's told me, gas is pretty bad on the Z. The Si would be a wise decision right now in my opinion.

I have an 07 si and love it. but as time goes on I'm looking at STI/EVO/350z/S2k,
Personally the gas is ridiculous but it shouldn't change your whole decision.
I feel like I want something with more power and will upgrade eventually.
Luckily our cars have good resale value so I won't take too big of a hit.

GL with your decision.

It depends how much you're willing to spend. I wanted a Evo/STi but I went with a Si. I didn't want to pay crazy monthly payments. I'm glad I got the Si too since it gets decent miles too. The Z is a better performance car and if that's all you care about than you should get the Z. The Si is a great value car and you get a lot for the price.

it really depends on you, but imo, the civic si is worth the money compared to a 350z, gets good gas mileage driving conservativly, and has power when needed, also, depends if you carry passengers, you can get a 4 door that has many options, like ctr/csx front and all that stuff compared to a coupe, but gl on your future car

Go Si all the way. Better value and more room, whether it's a sedan or coupe. Unless you never ride with any passengers in the car.

Seeing how this is a Honda forum, your answers will be bias towards the Si. If you were to go to a Nissan forum, I am sure they will recommend the Z. Personally I would go for the Si due to the lower price of the car, gas prices, and maintenance. Don't forget, Honda is more reliable than Nissan.

I personally would get the Si, better overall value in my opinion. My mom has a 350z I drive on many an occasion.
Advantages: It's torquey feeling, sounds amazing, women love them, and they are pretty quick and relaible.

Disadvantages: I don't like having NO storage, no back seat, just seems too cheaply built inside for the price, gas kinda sucks, and the price tag is far higher than the Si if you are looking at brand new.

At the end of the day you have to do what is best fitting for your lifestyle, for me...no backseat just doesn't cut it. Just some personal opinions from someone that doesn't even own an Si...but will in a month or so. :)

I would have to vote on the Si also.. Too much hype on the Z... But if you want to wait, the 370z coming out soon... Looks sexier...

They are both cool. I did like my Si a lot. I think for me I would go with the Si because of better fuel MPG and I think it has more room as well. I looked at a Altima coupe before I traded my si for a 08 Accord EXL Coupe with the V6 and 6 speed. The Altima had no room what so ever. You couldn't fit much of anything in the trunk or sit in the back seat so it was an automatic no go. I would think that if space is something you would like to have to travel I would go with the si. You could also look at a Accord coupe. I like the one I have and the preformance with the V6 and 6 speed MT is not bad. You also have plenty of space in the back seats and in the trunk.

I would get the si, but make sure it was built after the date of the 3rd gear fix. Your payments would be so much less especially putting down 8,000. The z is way faster of course, so you need to decide which is more important to you.

Depends on your personal prefrences. The 350Z is a drivers car, where you put driving over practicality. The Si is more for the practical person thats still looking for something fun to drive. The Si fits 5 (3 uncomfortably in the back), gets better gas mileage, around 7 grand cheaper and yet still fun to drive . The 350Z only fits 2, horrible rearview, little trunk space, yet flies when u floor it and handles superbly. So it depends on what your more interested in.
