The Z sounds way cooler and looks better in my opinion but you guys are kind of missing the point. Like I said in the very first post under the OP, these two cars are simply NOT comparable. The Z costs around 10 grand more (for the average Z, not base price), has two more cylinders, 1500cc more displacement, has 109 more horsepower (for 07/08 models), has three fewer seats, and the differential is on the other end of the car (RWD vs FWD). Really this comparison is ridiculous, it's like asking "Honda CR-V or Chevy Suburban", they are both SUVs but thats where the similarities end. A more logical comparison would be "Civic Si or Mazdaspeed 3 or VW GTI or Caliber SRT4 or Cobalt SS or Mini Cooper S or Sentra SE-R spec-v or Imprezza WRX" as all of these cars are comparable.

True that, but he wanted an opinion on what he should get and happened to give us the choice of a Z or an SI. Performance wise, the Z would eat it up in almost every catagory, and if he wants the best performance without regard for cost then, I agree, the Z. He gave us little to work with in terms of what he was looking to get out of a car and basically wanted help picking between the two.

Yo guys...seriously I been reading all the responses you have written, thank you very much. I dont know for a while I was thinking n still am bout getting an SI, but since my pops works for both dealers, they say they are going to give me the employee price on either car which is like 3 thousand less. The only thing is with the money I have down (8,000), Im looking at a 3 year commitment with the SI and a 5 year commitment with the Z. The other thing is room, I rarely have passengers, for most of the time is my wife and I. So im still debating.... but thanks and like I said keep those comments. Every bid helps.

yeah, you should get the Z, the 09 is getting a new body style, that way when you pay off the current z you will be two generations behind, get the Si, do yourself a favor.

the z rides like a 01 camaro ss. doesnt feel solid. ive said my piece and tried to help you make a good decision, now its up to your preference. btw, im a service manager at nissan so you know im giving you honest advice and not kissing nissans ass just because i work for them.
