Passenger Side Air Bag Question
I typically drive alone to and from work but I usually place my backpack in the passenger seat.
The light on the dash for the passenger air bag occasionally lights up the word off. However, most of the time it does not. Now, if I don't have anything in the passenger seat the light still remains off. Can anyone explain to me how the sensor works? |

If recall there are like three sensors to detect position and weight of the person or object on the seat. If the sensors detect pressure that indicates poor sitting position/child booster seat/or overall hazardous for an airbag to go off, It will just turn it off as opposed to causing a worse situation if it did go off.
