speed bumps part II

Sorry, but I spent 10 minutes typing this only to hit submit and the thread was locked.

I hate speed bumps. Big waste of city's money. I'd rather they fill the potholes first before they start putting humps in the road where they don't belong. Aren't the speed limits enough?

And as far as you peeps who get in your car, chase down a speeder and "knock his ass down"...you are GHETTO.

I drive for a living, cannot afford to be caught speeding as far as my job is concerned. I've had people yell at me when I was going 11mph in a 25 to slow down. I stopped and told the guy how fast I was going and to keep his eyes on his flippin' kids if he was that concerned. I thought going 11mph in a 25 was safe. But apparently, this guy did not.

Also had someone tell me the same thing when I was going 16mph in a 25mph zone. Same story. Told the guy, don't get mad at me for doing 9 under. Take your kids to the darn playground and stop being a lazy dad and letting them play in the street.

When I was a kid, we knew better. We played in the cul de sac where there was no chance of a speeding car. Oh, and I have 2 kids ages 5 and 7. And I would never let them play in the street! What kind of parents are you people. Blaming the guy in the red civic for your bad parenting? What a cop out. Someone should call CPS(child protective services) first on the parents before calling the cops on the speeding driver!

Done.

I've been yelled at and had the cops called on me in similar situations. My girlfriends' neighborhood has a lot of kids and when my ep was modded, stupid parents always thought I was speeding when I would never go more than 15-20 in a 25. Plus if I ever saw kids I would slow down even more.

Anyway, one day I was just watching TV at her house and a cop pulled into her driveway behind my car. I told him I wasn't speeding, but he said that if he got another complaint he would sit around with the radar gun and at least get me for tint even if I wasn't speeding. Total BS, but never saw that cop again.

your thread must of gotten locked for a reason and i'm sure the mod's informed you why...I agree with you about parents having their kids playing on the streets..I honestly believe their should be an age limit for kids being able to be by themselves on the streets...tired of hearing about the hit and runs that happen....now if I saw someone speeding and almost hit my kid...you bet i would run their ass down and knock their ass on the floor...wouldn't u do the same...? speeding in residential area's ftl...

It wasn't my thread, just one I was going to post a reply in.

As far as someone almost hitting my kid, if you look both ways before crossing, then hustle accross the street...you should never have a close call. If you're inside and your kids are outside or playing in the street, again; what's wrong with the backyard or a nearby playground. Streets are for cars to drive on, not for kids to play in or on.

oh sorry man thought they locked your thread..i understand now...yeah i agree kids are not suppose to be playing in the streets..i agree with that 100% with you...but still there's no reason for anyone to be speeding in a residential area period...cuz you still have granny's and grandpa's trying to get across the street and they take forever...ya digg..

LoL It's funny making threads that will get everyone to make a "you are a douche" speech... lol Talking about children's life and how they are in stake by doing a burn out infront of a house that doesn't have any children near or living in it is just exaggerating.

When did I say I was speeding in a residential zone on my thread? Doing a burn out is not going over 25mph wtf! Some of you are just dumbasses yourself.

Civicracer32, just because you have your wits about you, drive responsibly and actually respect other drivers, residential areas and laws etc doesn't mean the rest of the world does. I know you know this. I'm also pretty damned sure you know how many idiots, a**holes and just plain threats to safety are out there. Speed bumps can be a pain but in a residential area that some people thinks can double as the autobahn, they're necessary.

I completely understand your first post and I agree with you. We played in a Cul du sac or got the hell out of the street when we saw a car. Kids today think they're impervious to life and some parents don't try to lift a finger. Unfortunately, people have just gotten stupider with each passing decade.

------------------------------

And because this thread is now falling victim to the same level of ignorance and obnoxiousness as the last one was, it too is locked.

All it takes is one a** to mess it up for everyone.
