Myth of The Undercover Ferrari...

There's a myth here in WA state that there's an undercover cop that drives a ferrari to catch racers around the Bellevue area. I know theres two Z's in the burien/seatac area too(one is maroon with the lights inside his front window. But just curious, has anyone ran into an undercover cop with a supercar, or any other tuner/exotic car?????

^^^Yeah it is. And that area is heavy with cops because of the rich people not wanting others speeding around over there. but thats also the area where some really fast tuner/exotic cars are. My brother claims to have seen him, but i just cant believe that yet. But he was right about the 350Z's though. there's two that i know about.

I doubt they'll use a ferrari to catch people because if they crash that thing, that would be at least $250,000 down the drain.

NYC had 5.0 mustangs with supercharger's. They would confiscate cars from Hunts Point and make them into undercovers. FL down by me has F250 trucks that have lights stuffed into every hole they can find. Rumor says there is a red eg hatch with a turbo thats a cop as well, but ive never seen it.

True, and maintenance isn't exactly cheap either, but what if they didn't buy it? Isn't property siezed during drug busts the property of the state? I remember watching a show on TV where the camera panned across a group of sweet cars allw ith police lights on them and then to an officer who "thanked" the drug dealers for all the new police vehicles.

Well, at $500 per serious ticket, it doesnt take very long to pay it off. Haha.

Reality wise, they probably get sponsored.

We have state troopers that drive Chargers in Alabama and I have seen some cops in Trussville that drive the new Mustangs. Crown Vics just aren't cool enough for the coppers any more.

I couldn't imagine getting pulled over by a Ferrari though. How awesome would it be to be the cop that gets to drive that?

I've seen Impala, Charger, and Mazda 6 as cop cars. I got pulled over by all of them but no tickets. I wasnt expecting Mazda 6 though.

Ive actually seen cops in Mustang GT's in Miami. Down there they use anything from limos to utility vans.

Here in NJ on route 21 there is Sheriff driving a new Mustang GT, but it isn't undercover, it's black and white with big SHERIFF on it. I’ve seen him pullover people like 4 times…

All the forces are goin to the Chargers around here now (Texas: Belton, Temple, some surrounding areas - even little bitty Rogers between Temple and Buckholts, where I work!) -

What gets me is HOW DOES A LITTLE BITTY TOWN LIKE ROGERS GET ENOUGH MONEY FOR THAT?! - And I'll tell you the answer too - cuz Rogers is a one street speed trap, and they'll pull you over for just lookin at em! If you're drivin right behind some lady that's pushin the record for the oldest person in the world pretty soon, they're still gonna pull you over (just for lookin at em, or wearin camo, or lookin too fly in your Civic coupe , or whatever) and tell you that you were goin 12 over the limit! (when it was probably 12 under!) Still in the break-in period, and I get a speeding ticket?! WTS?!
