it was 4.19 for premium in westwood (ucla). really gross price. but then again, the cheapest you see around LA is still over $4 for 91 octane.

What the heck is the transit tax? I've never heard of that.

Here in Toronto gas prices are $1.20 for regular. Not sure how much premium is, but someone said in the $1.45 range.

yea... i paid $3.95 up here in the chicago burbs. it sucks. im doing the whole 9 yards with efficient driving, i even tried drafting semi's a few times, i dunno how well it worked from how far away i was. ($2 more for gas per tank > drafting a truck too close and hella rock chips)

getting 32-34mpgs in my 08 Sedan Si with 80% highway driving at 65mph

seriously? is it really?
I haven't ventured out around America all that much, but from what I've seen, your roads are DAMN nice. The interstates, at least. and those rest stops along the way, those are INSANE! they're like little towns of their own!!
Oh except for the little highway in North Dakota I drive on once in a while (don't know which one it is). I mean, the road itself is fine, but it doesn't even have a shoulder...what the hell.

Or just start using the money from the gas taxes for road repair instead of other sh*t.

Thumbs down

Here in Memphis,TN regular is 3.52, mid grade is 3.63, and premium 3.74. and since I only use Shell. I believe BP is the same... In MS its only 10 cents cheaper there gas was pretty cheap hell its catching up to TN. This is horrible. I would like to know what would happen if I did use 87 octane. I wonder what the dealer filled it up with...

That tax graph page is old. The taxes in BC are even larger now. However, we are in the process of building a world class transit system (depending on who you ask).

I don't really mind the price. Today, 91 was $1.39 per/L OR $5.26 per Gallon. The way I see it, all the dumba$$es with huge Trucks and SUVs are paying my share on the tax.

I studied Economics in University; one of my professors said it best,” If you don't like paying taxes then don't drink, smoke or drive a huge inefficient car, let those people pay the taxes for you."

Now why the hell is that? Why are we getting so damn ripped off on gas up here???
GST & PST along with fuel tax rates are higher in Canada. Commercial vehicle owners have to balance where they purchase fuel vs. where they drive and settle-up quarterly on the taxes. As a general consumer, you don't (so enjoy your USA discount) but remember you are paying to maintain US highways instead of those you use everyday in Canada.
