Test drove an fa5

Me and 2 of my friends decided to go dealership hopping and test drive an si... My friends gf works at honda so she hooked us up with a test drive. It was a black 08 with full hfp package, pretty nice looking. We had 4 people in the car including the honda salesman, who was like 300lbs, and a full tank of gas... so i knew we were gonna weigh it down a lot. I told my friend to hit the 3rd gear vtec which everyone on here is always buzzing about, and honestly it wasnt that great of a pull. Idk if it was all the weight in the car or me still craving the trq of that gto we had drivin earlier but i was kinda dissapointed :/

any thoughts?

3 people with the 300lb salesman + 2980lb car = 3750lb car

What did you expect? Lightspeed

it's true. you have a 200hp sedan carrying about 800lbs extra.. its bound to be a little slower.

Try that in your EM2, you won't make it up a small hill.

The four people is not exactly a weight that's subtle. Go back, test drive it with two people.

uh oh you didn't break it in properly... try driving it without the huge elephant in the back.. but seriously you're comparing a 2.0/200hp to a 6.0/390-420hp.. plus i don't think you could put a 300 pound salesman in the back of the gto... 2 door.... i've driven with a friend with a fa5 with a dcrh and axle back and was really inpressed when hitting v-tec...

^^Most high reving engines have way less torque then HP.

3rd gear kick isnt that great. I hit it today without noticing it was coming up. It does kick a little bit, but i like the 2nd gear kick more. Put it in 2nd going 20MPH then floor it. It takes a few seconds to get to the vtec but the anticipation is fun too.

my vtec seems to have more kick/pull now that i have 4k miles vs when I had 2k and was starting to think my car was slow as hell.

2nd is much better. Or first, but it's really short and you'll probably bounce off the limiter the first time.
