Angry Dealership crack my side skirt when I went for an oil change.

So the other day I went to Princeton, NJ Honda dealership for my 3rd oil change. I was there for an hour and a half just for them to tell me that they couldnt do the oil change and they cracked my side skirt. I have a toureen body kit on my car and it made the car too low to get on 3 different lifts. Then they tried their alignment lift and with the mechanics added weight was too low to drive up onto the lift and cracked it. They said they usually have wooden boards for this situation but they didnt know where they were. I didnt know what to think. They gave me free oil and filter so that I could do it myself. They put this situation in the computer and told me to get it fixed and send them the bill. I'm trying to figure out how much I could get out of them and whether or not I should get the HFP kit because I dont want to keep running into this situation bc my kit lowers my car. I hope 2morrow to go to a shop my friend knows and see what he could do and the price. But I never saw this coming when I went for a simple oil change.

Ive seen u around. I always wondered who's car that was with the taureen kit. Sucks this happened, but Honda of Princeton sucks. I heard nothin but horror stories and have friends tell me their own horror stories from that place, Your better off driving 20 min south and going to Willis Honda. Its much better. Great service. I been going there since I was 17 with my first honda.

I didnt know Princeton was so bad. Thanks for the update. I doubt I will ever go back to them. The only reason I did was because im still at college and it was the closest.

Do you know of any good body shops in NJ that I could go to get my kit fixed?

your a tool for trying to get something for nothing. "how much i can get out of them" they made a mistake and are owning up to it. get the side skirt replaced and your golden. i hate when people do this. its fraud and it makes you look like a tool.

please get it done right. Go to Mule on rt 130south in hamilton. Have them paint the rest of the kit and do it right. They are one of the most reputable body shops in the state.

Body By Mule' 550 Rt. 130 Hamilton NJ 800-681-BODY

It's not like im trying to get more than the damage they did by that comment. I spent a lot of money on the kit and getting it paint. They were negligent by trying to get my car to fit on the lift without the boards and then crack my side skirt because of it. If it happened to you, youd be just as pissed off as me. So dont call me a tool when I now have to go out of way to fix something because of their mistake. and its not nothing jerk.

That's the problem with having a bodykit. The sideskirts make the car look much lower than it should. With my old civic I couldn't even get a carwash without my sideskirt scraping.

YOU bought the body kit. now YOU must live with that decision. because the tech screwed up, your gonna come up on a HFP now? YOU are the jerk, fix what they broke. Its not a free shopping spree cause they tried to do an oil change on your car thats obviously too low. I would of sent you packing, customer service or not.

when i mentioned the HFP i didnt say that i would ask them to pay for it. i would have asked for like free installation if anything. i was thinkin about the hfp kit so i wouldnt run into these sorta problems anymore. stop thinkin im trying to get a crazy amount of money out of them bc im not. im not an asshole just upset over this thing.

Now that i think about it i prolly should have gone hfp but i wanted to be alittle different from all the other civics out there so thats why i picked that one. Im just gonna check out a shop or too and see what i have to work with.

I'm going to reiterate what sivic_sc stated. They are owning up to their mistake, they're going to pay for the bill. Don't milk them for more money because of neglection. It's like if you ask McDonalds for a Double Cheeseburger, and they hand you a normal Cheeseburger. They say it's their bad, and give you a Double Cheeseburger. Now you want free fries because of the mistake. WTF? Simply put, if you wanted to be different, you shouldn't have bought a Civic in the first place.

ok listen...the way I stated that comment wasnt good but i thought I had corrected myself saying that thats not what im going to do. They didnt exactly say how much they were willing to pay thats why I kinda made that comment but im not gonna be an asshole about it and rack up some ridiculous bill for them. Your right, If i wanted to be different I wouldnt have bought a civic but you know what, it wasnt my choice and thats the cards that were dealt to me so thats what Im playing with.

Word to that.. they made a mistake, don't look like a jackass and post crap like 'how much can I get out of them', it makes you look bad imo. Just get it fixed, send them the bill and be on your way. The body kit problems are your fault, don't put it on them to get you out of it.
