I think everyone kinda favored the recent wars. Back when we had justification that is.

Today at least some people have woken up the the facts, while many conservatives still believe since were in Iraq we must win it. Like there really even is any type of victory to be had....

You'd also have to break down conservatives: There libertarians who believe in strict limited governments, constitutionalist who believe in directly following the document (the christian version), social conservatives who believe the government should be limited except for its role in defending the christian nation against the evils of secularism, and then the just plain moderate conservatives like former democrat Joe Leiberman.

Well back to topic lol.

I dunno what to expect really in the auto market. Like I said in the first post, they need to raise prices to keep their profits the same. But auto sales are already sluggish due to our lagging domestic economy. Maybe they'll just shift to heavier emphasis on econo cars and even though the prices go up, people that were used to spending 30-35K$ on SUV's/sport sedans will be willing to pay for a High end civic at $2k over todays prices. I don't know, but it's not good. As far as U.S. automakers, they source quite a bit of their prouduction parts from China and overseas, so we'll be hit too.

I supported Ron Paul for Pres. It was a longshot, but I felt like I helped get the message out. As far as the wars, Just abot everyone was for them in 2001-2003. Heck, they cost my family personally 2.5 million dollars. My dad was an airline pilot about to retire at the time, and they took away his 2.5mil pension payout after they went through bankruptcy reorganization after 9/11. But everybody knows this war is pretty much un-winnable. Anyone who knows radical Islam knows that the "radicals" won't be satisfied until the world is converted. And if we don't convert, they kill us. And that they are happy to take innocent lives as well as their own. We have much more justification for going into Iran than we ever did with Iraq. I just don't think we need to initiate it. Let someone else in that region spearhead the thing.

I dunno. I consider myself fairlly up on Geo-politics. But it's like a chess game where you must think many moves ahead, and understand the skills of your opponent. I haven't come up with what to do myself, but it's not my job either!

you guys wanna here something that will make you mad? i was in the navy for 41/2 years, in my time we did over 3 years at sea spending somewhere in the neighborhood of a billion dollar for just my ship to operate in the time i was in. Over a billion dollars, and we didnt do a damn thing the whole time related to the war, we just pulled into about 50 different countries and partied our a$$'s off. the real problem with the economy is this damn war. that was just my ship, imagine how much it costs to run all the fleets. this is your money that goes down the drain here people when you pay taxes. the military is the biggest waste of money imo.

I was in the Air Force and can attest to the wasteful spending that goes on. However, after their Force Shaping program, I think they're really trying to thin out the budgets (at least personnel budgets).

Iraq costs us over $1b per day. And by us, I mean individually, anyone who pays taxes.

However, we have bases all over the world. Our role as world police is costing us a obscene amount of money. Then, at home, the government will do nothing to let its own citizens keep their homes. Kinda backwards, eh?

The government is full of incompetent morons that need to be booted out. I'd say take all of iraqs oil and pull out. Our own infrastructure is on the brink of collapse while the politicians spend our tax dollars on a bullshit war, that should of ended in 03. Man Bush is the worst president ever, and who ever is elected next year we are still going to be screwed! Hilary is a Nazi commie,Obama is a flaming racist and elitist/defeatist,Mccain is a straight up pussy. Wow out of millions of people in America these 3 dumbfarts are the ones that might lead this country? thats pathetic. Issues really need to be fixed in this country like.

Borders-illegal aliens
War-cost and casualties
Opec-oil prices (we need to drill our own oil but the damn tree hugger environmentalists wont let us)
China-We need to ban china from selling us tainted and dangerous goods
Tax dollars-We need to stop spending billions of our money in Iraq,Afghanistan and Africa and spend it on our own infrastructure to rebuild roads, schools, medical etc etc
Get rid of wal-mart.
Stop giving huge tax breaks to people that dont deserve them like rich people, rich celebrities and greedy ass CEO's like lee scott, alan mulally, bob lutz, rober nardelli.
Tax the rich up the ass,use their money to rebuild this country, little to no taxes for middle and lower income families.
Get rid of the unions

Was that by any chance one of the former battleships? Washington or New Jersey?

I remember reading it cost 10 million a day to operate on of those during peacetime. And I'm pretty sure the Washington was used as just a show of force during the first Iraq conflict.

OMG!

I'm not alone! It seems everyone up here in the northeast just wants to throw down the welcome rug and offer free healthcare to them via US taxpayers.
