Worst Accident You've Ever Seen?

Last night I was driving home from work on the freeway (eastbound), and in the distance on the side going westbound I see a bunch of police lights and backed up traffic. As I pass the cop cars I see the cabin of a Semi truck completely over the concrete median and I believe a car or two were invloved, but I didn't see it.

With that said, that's probably one of the worse accidents I've witnessed.

a car went over the side of one of those bridge things once, and hit the freeway underneath. The whole front of the car crushed in, with the steering wheel crushing the drivers chest. Worst thing i think ive ever seen in my life.

june 7 07, i was in a terrible car wreck, i was riding with a friend of mine, he was driving a 00 SS camero, doing 110 around a slight curve, we flew off the side of the road and hit 3 trees, i was in the hospital 4 weeks and icu 2 weeks, im still recovering as of now. when i drive, i dont go over 65. crushed L5 vertibre, shattered anke, concusion, and a **** load of cuts and bruises. sry for going into detail but thats the worst wreck ive ever seen lol

my brother car rolled over two lanes before hitting the divider and further rolled onto the upcoming traffic and then rolled down the hill(this was on a freeway). Car was total, and he only came out with a cut on his ear.

i dont remember the accident, but i remember a body bag on the side of the road. It was on I5 south of olympia, WA

very few accidents on german Autobahn, But from what I remember there was a Mercedes Wagon wrecked at over 150mph, the car disentegrated and all 4 occupants died..

I dnt remember to well because I was young when I saw the wreak. I was on the side of the highway with my dad picking up one of his friends who got in a wreak and his two kids. He pulled over on the other side of the road like a moron and walked over when there was no traffic. He did something I dnt remember and then went to go back. He waited till he saw a lil tiny opening and WALKED not run jog WALKED across the 5 lane high way well tried. He got to the second lane and then tried to Stop traffic that was going 75 80 with his hand!!! Well he managed to stop the car he slammed on the breaks and then got rear ended then the lanes beside him stopped and then they got rear ended. Needless to say it was a major pile up. All 5 lanes of turnpike had 2 to 3 cars wreaked not crashed but totaled. The lane that the cop was in had about 5. I remember seeing a few tires fly by me and one kept rolling along the high way for a good bit. 2 helicopters need to be brought in to take the more severely wounded. What a dum ass cop!!!! What would u do if u saw a cop in front of u like that??

I was driving down 95S, and saw a car just start breaking real hard i was ah good quarter mile from that car so i didn't know why she was breaking but when i got closer, i saw a guy laying there, on the road, guess he was trying to cross the highway, well i stayed there and called the police, the girl that hit the guy didn't have a phone, cops told me to just check if he's breathing and if he isn't to leave him there? i found that weird, but i don't know cpr.......The lady said she was doing like 90 so I'm sure he died instantly. defiantly the worst thing Ive seen....

Summary:
Car in front of me hit ah man trying to cross the highway........
called the cops, they showed up
He was pronounced dead at the sence.

on the way to school one morning. i was sitting at a red light as the cars running perpendicular to me had the green. a four runner was going through the intersection as the light turned yellow and a car turning left ran the red and t-boned the four runner and the four runner flipped 3-4 times. it was easily the worst accident ive seen

The weirdest wreck that I've ever seen I showed up right after it happened. I left a buddies apartment and started heading down the road (not a road that is traveled much). When I got to the bridge crossing over the highway there was a car just stopping, and a mustang smoking with the front end half gone pushed up against the concrete barrier. The guy was just sitting there completely unconcious slumped over the steering wheel. I got out, ran up to the car while calling the cops.. When I got up to it I could smell the nitrous, and when I looked in the back sure enough, a leaking tank of nitrous. I yelled for the lady leaning in the car to turn the ignition off and she just looked at me like I was retarded and said "The car's not running." I yelled at her to take the damn key out of the ignition and she finally took it out. We grabbed his cell phone and found an entry for "Home" in it and called it to let whoever he lived with know that he had been in an accident. By this time the first cop had shown up so I told him everything that happened while I was there, gave him my number, and split.

The next day I went back to see what had happened and it just left me dumbfounded.. There were no tire marks from losing control, spinning tires.. nothing. It's almost like the guy just yanked the wheel and hit the barrier.

Another one that looked like it was bad was some girl in an em2. Her front bumper was about even with my rear bumper and we were both just cruising down the highway in the middle of the afternoon. The highway was somewhat busy and all, but nothing happened to provoke her, she just went left hard (almost hitting my rear bumper), over corrected, the back end broke loose and she just hit the wall.. Not half a second later the truck behind her t-boned her. I have no idea what happened with that..

I saw something very similar around the corner from my house a while back.. But the thing that disgusted me was the fact that the body was just on a stretcher covered with a white sheet, and the cop was just leaning up against the body (bracing himself with his hand on the ankle) smoking like nothing was going on! That pissed me off..

If I would post some of the pics of accidents I have investigated, I would be banned. I have seen several accidents involving fatalities.... one of the hardest things I have done in my profession was to tell a sister that her brother died.

Last fatality that I went to was a woman who blew a stop sign and was T Boned by a semi which was doing around 65. She got tossed out and was in two. Her entire vehicle was actually inside the engine compartment of the semi, and I left the scene after 2 hours not even knowing if there was a second person in the vehicle still trapped.

May 23, 2003, my wife and I were driving home late on 83 North out of Baltimore and we saw a Cherokee flipped over on the side of the road with steam coming out. We were the first people at the accident, and the driver was trapped in the vehicle. Apparently it was in the far left lane and went across the lanes to the other side and landed upside down. It was weird because you almost don't believe what you'd seen.

By the time I pulled over and ran to the Jeep, other cars stopped too, and me and a couple guys helped her get out of her vehicle safely. I got her email address to send her pictures and she never responded.

i don't know what exactly happened, but i was on my way with my cousin to chicago and all of the sudden traffic was backed up to the point where it took us almost over an hour to get 5 miles.

there were a bunch of cop cars and fire trucks, etc. on the scene. looked like it blew up or something. the trailer it was pulling looked like the same thing happened to it too.

motorcyclist sideswiped and hit the median on I-290 up by Worcester, MA...

His bike was on the southbound side, about 50ft from the point of impact on the right shoulder, his body was in the middle lane going northbound about 80ft from where he hit the median...

fairly certain he was dead.. paramedics had just shown up when I cruised by on the northbound side....


other than that, some moron in ohio towing a motorhome jack knifed it and got it wedged with his ford explorer across all lanes on one side of the highway... had traffic blocked for a good 15 miles...
