Honda Fit - what's so great about them?

they're about the same price as a civic lx (maybe a bit less for the sport), slower, probably similar gas mileage.

i mean, their not bad looking for a wagon type car....but why not just buy a civic lx over a Fit?

You can shove a ton of crap in that little thing.

the front end is pretty nice, but i'm not a huge fan of the wagon look in general. i will admit though, i love the interior for the price....but i'd still look at a civic lx coupe for around the same price.

it seems like EVERY forum I'm on (car forum or not), everyone loves them.

I would take the Fit over the the Civic LX but not for a Civic EX. The design of the Fit is pretty nice and they got some nice colors out there.

theyre different. Supposedly they are pretty peppy and handle great plus they can look pretty sexy with wheels and a drop.

i got rid of my Si...traded it for a Fit. its a great small car. its not made to go fast. i like the style...somehwat minivan-like...but not.

as for speed, imagine that your Si redline was at 6800...just before vtec. thats what its like. not as slow as it may seem. but i still wouldnt want to race against anything.

the transmission shift sooo much better than the SI, and large selling point to me was that is 100% made in japan. a better work ethic over ther = better quality products.

not to mention i made out like a bandit on the deal. i got over blue book for my Si, and i got the Fit for $15,000 even. paid off any negative equity in my Si and its like starting from scratch.

My 2008 NHBP Fit mod thread - Honda FIT Forums
IMO, my fit is coming along very well for only a little over a month of owning it.

The fit:

1. Is cheap.
2. Looks good (IMO) with it's lip kit, fogs, colormatched headlights...
3. Can fit a lot of stuff in there.
4. Is comfortable, even for tall people.
5. Gets good gas mileage.
6. Handles well.
7. Has aftermarket parts available if someone would like to go that route.
8. Is a Honda :)

About the only downsides to the fit in my opinion are the lack of sunroof and the lack of power.

If it weren't for the two "downsides" listed above, I'd be in one right now. I'm going to try to convince my GF to get one as her next car.

i like the looks of a clean fit. dont think i'd take one over a civic... but who knows.

best wagon type car in my eyes is the Audi A3 ... i actually want one pretty bad. Tryin to convince my fiancee to get one

why did you sell the Si for a fit nighthawk? I am very intrigued by the decision and want to know about your experience. I may just trade mine for an 09 w/ navi

after almost 2 years of paying for/owning my SI i still owed just over 19k on it. that car had so much negative equity in it, it wasnt even funny. it was due to my average credit when i got it, the premium that teh car was demanding in august of 06, and the horrible intrest rate i got.
between the higher than normal trade in i got for the SI, and the price i negotiated the fit for, i paid off the difference in my loan for the SI.

i got the car alot for financial reasons, although i have alwasy like the style. after i got it and got used to it, i am very happy with my decision.

09 fits are coming with navi?!?i had no idea.
i put the avic-D3 im mine anyway...just never knew that were putting navi in a 15k car, lol.

Actually, the Fit sport MSRP is 15,270 whereas the Civic LX MSRP is 16,960, so a better comparison would be the Fit vs Civic DX being only ~200 dollars apart.

With that said you can see that the Fit has many features the DX does not for the same price.
1-touch windows, power side view mirrors, cruise control, AC, leather wheel, better audio, etc.

Also, residents of congested city areas will like the Fit being 20" shorter than a Civic sedan.

^ fit MSRP is $15,800. the invoice is about $15300. <---including destination fees.

there is not much of a difference in invoice and MSRP on the fit. most dealers done negotiate for that reason.
