Older vs Younger drivers

So on my way home today I notice in my mirrors a Fiji 8th Gen Coupe was a few cars behind me. It had the HFP kit and foglights. So of course I slow down to hopefully see the driver and give a wave and blow a kiss.

Lucky the next traffic light turn red and the Fiji pull up next to me. Turn out to be a really much older guy (Maybe 40s?). He gave me quite a nasty glare. Perhaps that is what I get for being 19.7 years old that still looks and mistaken as a 12 year old.

I was about to give him a wave anyway but when the light turn green he took off a bit before I did.

I have to say though, that Fiji with HFP kit sure made me wish I got Fiji instead. It look that damn good!

Well anyway...

How do you older drivers feel when you see a young driver driving the same car? Does the "what a spoil brat" go through your head?

How about you younger drivers feel when you see a much older person?

Honestly I felt a bit uneasy today. It look like he wanted to punch me in the face.

im considered a younger driver and when I see an "older" driver in a Si I usualy assume its probally there son's car. If it's an "older" driver I will be less likely to start chatting to them about 8thcivic. There is a RR around me that a mom owns I guess. I see her driving all the time in it with full HFP and fogs...Ugh, im jealous. I only have the front. Most of the times I see other drivers will stopped at lights

Maybe he gave you a dirty look because he in fact wanted TW? lol

I really don't notice the other drivers of Civics that much, I'll glance over sometimes when I see another Civ but not that long to take any interest really, I concentrate on driving, now if I see a woman driving, well then I take a bit more interest, I'm 40 BTW, and I love driving my FA5

quite honestly, i dont think about this kinda thing, but this quote rite here is a bit....off.

if an older guy driving a civic looks at the exact same car with a much younger driver, why would the older person think "what a spoiled brat" of the driver driving a CIVIC?

and not sure which category i would fall under (old or young - im 22 yrs old), but i did see a grandpa fly past my Si in his Si and i was thinking "sweet!"

I'll be 21 in 3 weeks and I normally (If I can) get a talk with people having a SI. I see person between 40-50 often with SI and talk with them and when I tell them I have one they don't seem to care and just enjoy talking about it !

i like seeing EM1's with 30+ year old drivers (my guesstimate) on the road, and wonder if i'll be one of them in a few years.

Well, I'm 40 and I see alot of what u just said in any age driver. I myself dont discriminate at all...you have an 8th gen ur ok in my book. I have run a few younger kids and when I get out of the car and put my window down, they cant believe some 40 year old just ran them. I also get the opposite..."Is this your sons car?" That bugs me.....an older guy cant have a nice car?

Here's mine

Here's Pon55's ride and hes 62!

It depends on what the younger driver looks like for me. If he looks like some douche with his collar popped and his hat falling off his head sideways then I dont give a **** what he is driving, he is a dick in my book!

Being 40ish the only thing I've ever noticed was not being revved at like everyone else around here seems to have problems with.

Never once has anyone tried to play games when I was driving my Si. Of course, how anyone could tell I was 'older' when they roll up behind me is beyond my. Perhaps I've just been lucky.

I bought the car to have fun with and I did. Great little car. But its gone now. Some 'young' person is probably going to get a very well cared for Si.

There's a good amount of differences between a 16 year old and a 19 year old. You grow up quite a bit in 3 [teenage] years.
