I hit a turkey. He tried to fly or something right before I hit it. He skidded accross my hood and into my windshield. Feathers flew everywhere! No damage to the car!

A couple of weeks ago i was driving to my gf's house....To the right of me, I saw a kid with a puppy...All of a sudden the puppy ran into the street and I swerved out of the way to avoid smashing it. I'm guessing it was probably a foot away from my right tire..

i heard about someone hitting a dog once and it got stuck in the grille of the car, so they pulled it out and it took off running....not quite roadkill.

Not in my civic, but I hit (& killed) a dog on Christmas
a few years later I hit a deer on my way home from work
I also tagged a drunk guy walking across the street, but he got up and walked away

I think this one would fall into just odd.

My Sonoma's antenna has a 1/3 inchish diameter top. Any way, I was driving to my parents house and when I got there my dad did his typical once over on the truck to see if there was anything he could do and he just started laughing his ass off. I wen to see what was going on. This huge dragonfly hit that antenna top face first. His ass and face were one and the wings were sicking straight out perfectly.

I don't think he saw that coming.

when i was younger like 12 or 13, my Dad pulled in the driveway one afternoon, after it was dark outside and was like " hurry up and get in the truck they had a deer get clipped by a car and it is injured on the side of the road." Cool, so we find the spot were the deer was hit and it was laying down w/ its head up, breathing heavily, and one of its eyeballs was hanging out. This is not a busy street and it has woods on bothe sides, in case you were wondering, back to the story. My Dad walked over to it , he had his mag-lite flash light in his hand shinning it on the wounded deer. He asked if any cars were comming, i said no.the next thing i hear is click, click, the light goes out and BAM! Click, click, the light comes back on and the deer is now OUT. We loaded it up in the truck and headed back home. When we got to the house, we moved the deer to the back yard.We noticed that the deer was barelly breathing when we set it down on the ground. SO, my Dad took out his work knife that he kept on his side and tried to stab the deer in the heart area. Next thing I see the deer starts to kick, my Dad barely got out of the way. The deer gets up and starts to run across the yard a short distance towards a four foot weather fence. All of a sudden my Dad tackles the deer and starts juggin the hell out of it w/ his knife and managed to kill it finally before it was able to get over the fence... It was the craziest shit I ever saw, and then we skinned the small buck( 4 point) it was about 125lbs maybe, and eventually ate it...... Hope yall enjoyed the story, sorry it was so long. And NO, we are not a bunch of country bumpkins, this happend on the out skirts of Baton Rouge city limits.

I swear that I have seen this story somewhere else. Have you posted this elsewhere in a non-car related forum?

Call me soft, but road kills make me sad. Poor animals.

A few months ago a BMW in front of me hit a cat. The bimmer tried to slow down prior to the hit, so it wasn't instant death, but it was very painful for me to see the cat acting like a drunk teenager struggling to get out of the road. The cat eventually died of course, but I'm sure it wasn't pain free. I'm a cat person, so it was very disturbing for me.

I picked off a owl with my windshield in the middle of a storm driving my cousin home from my house. Lucky I didnt kill it so I sat out with the owl and called the animal control people who work with birds and they came out there after 30min or so.... I was soaked. not fun.

I ran over a black cat, as I stepped on the gas from a right turn, the cat comes out of no where and tries to cross the street, my tire goes right over him, I feel the bump...
10ft later I stopped the car, look in the mirror, and the cat just stands up and continues running like nothing happened

So I ran over a black cat, and it survived...
Creepy huh
