i'd like to get some more input on mtmetzger's SI, i really like the car and i'm hoping he will drop it to 20 for me. If i could get it for that do you think the savings are good enough over buying a new one? I figured if i get it for 20000 it would end up costing me $21,020 after tax and before registration fee.

i was just asking on opinion whether i should buy that one or get a brand new one. I sent out an email to the 15 closet honda dealers in my area and one responded back with an out the door price of 20,300 on an 07 si sedan. I was pretty floored by that, so i'm going to use that to my advantage on getting other dealers to beat it.

hm...$20,300 OTD for a 2007 is a good price. but the car is a year old already even though it has 0 miles....that to me means its worth its full value...
the 2008 is "newer", but has more miles, and will cost a little more by the time you register it and pay taxes. but it also looks nicer with the mods already done to it. its a tough decision. i dont think one is really better than the other. |

well i just talked to the sales person at the dealership that offered me 20300 otd and set up a test drive on monday. It's HRP, which was my 2nd color choice to the FBP. Its a little humourous because I emailed 15 dealerships and have replied to a lot of them telling them i got an offer of 20300 and they are all clueless on how i got that quote. 07 or not, it's still a new car and the insurance is a little bit cheaper so it works out well. I'm pretty excited to go check it out

A. be one HECK of a negotiator and/or B. have a HUGEEEEEEEE down payment. the idea that he just walked into a dealer with a low, if any at all, down payment and get a NEW 07 Si still NEW into the year is quite unlikely. im calling the BS card on that claim. |

but for an 07 new SI sedan now, is 20,300 still a good price? I know its not an 08 but nothing changed in the model year and it still has the full warranty, so i don't really see the benefit of having an 08.... My lease isn't up for a few more months but to me it seems like it would be stupid to pass this offer up rather then getting stuck possibly paying 1500-2000 more. Am i correct on this?

well i just found out the dealrship sold the HRP i was looking at which sucks. they have a black one in stock, i like black but i dont want to own it due to scratches and how it always looks dirty, but i found another dealership with a GG that i could probably get for the same price. I'm a little bit pissed off but i think i like the GG, i'll just have to check it out in person

Just thought I'd add that regardless of title condition, new, used, buddys firend, uncle's whatever---- check the condition of the body for hidden repairs. You can purchase expensive meters or just perform an exam of the sheet metal with a fridge magnet placed on a piece of loose leaf paper onto the area you wish to check.
