Call the dealer first thing in the morn, and talk to your salesperson. Actually, if you don't have to work first thing in the morn, I would get down there as soon as they open in person. It will be harder for them to blow you off or say no to your face. Since the deal was done on the weekend, there's a chance you can alter it. But, you signed, so you kind of have to hope they be nice to you and let you remove the $2600 worth of stuff.. Just be cool to them and hopefully they'll be cool back! Let them know you didn't feel like there was a lot of transparency in the deal and were under a different impression about the price and when the time came to sign things you kind of didn't really understand things and you were "trusting them" since they do this every day.

Which dealer btw?

I'm in socal and bought my car in Orange county last week.

BTW, checked the math on the deal you got. Looks about $600 over invoice including destination. Not a bad deal. Don't feel bad about that. Just cancel if you can, the gap, life insurance crap, and the extended warranty if you can.

Good Luck.

BTW, I got the gap and alarm in the finance dept. Gap made sense for me since I traded in a car with $4150 neg equity and bought a new Si. So my total amount financed with neg equity, tax, license, fees, gap, and alarm was just under $28k on a car worth about 6-7k less if I were to crash it today. I didn't think that(gap) was such a bad thing to have considering my situation. You may want to keep the gap seeing as it will be about 3 years before the payoff on the car and equity balance out. That, and it may be easier to get them to remove just 2 of the 3 items.

Dave

you didn't get ripped off ...all the "extras" you paid for
are of some value IF needed down the road
*gap insurance is very important if the car is totaled b-4 you pay it off( the insurance companys NEVER pay book value)
* credit life is gonna keep somebody from paying for
your car if(heaven forbid) you should die b-4 it's paid for
*extended warranty coverage is also good if after
the warranty expires for items like computer modules,
water pumps, alternators, however there is usually a "fee"
or deductable that you must pay, 50-200 dollars per
claim

I would say the warranty is only good if you drive more than 20-25k a year then yea get the extended cause When I went to sign papers I remembered I was getting a honda which goes for ever not compared to my nissan.

P.S. I type way to fast and im tired so forgive my spelling lol.

This is what I thought also. I don't think it's a bad deal to have all of these if it was still 21k out the door like the salesman told me after checking with his boss after I haggled him down from 22k including taxes and fees. That was before going into the financing office.

You only paid about $600 over invoice. I paid $350 under invoice on my '07 civic ex manual coupe, invoice on my '07 civic hybrid, and the bastards got me for $1200 over invoice on my Si (it was the LAST one in all of SoCal in ASM color though at the time).

You're gonna spend $200 a month in gas over the next 5 years (60 months), in addition to the $440 a month payment or whatever, and probably close to $100 a month on insurance. Don't sweat $20 or $30 extra cause of a few extra things and a few hundred bux more on the car. It actually is pretty insignificant. More of a blow to your ego than anything. I realized this when I found the Si I wanted and decided if I was going to get the model and color I wanted, that I wasn't going to let a few hundred dollars spead out over 60 months ruin my party!

Enjoy the new car, and look forward to "seein'" you around on the forums.

Yes, the ego hurts the most! because whether they refund those ridiculous extras or not, I'm still going to be paying $437 a month for this awesome car yet I could have bought an Si with $23,600 or maybe less. I should have walked out as soon as I heard him say "23k is the total amount financed". Thank you sir and everyone else who responded, I look forward to spending time in this forum. I will keep you guys updated with what happens tomorrow.

I got mine for $20150 07 EX Sedan. For 22500, I could have gotten the Si.

$279/month with $5000 down EX Non-Navi.

GAP and Extended

Having recently bought the LX sedan the dealer also tried to get me into the GAP and Extended warranty.

GAP - I get it from my insurance company and it's about $50 for the year.

Extended - after shopping around I got my local dealer to give me the D62 option - 120K / 6 year option for a whole $785.

I know for sure that you can cancel both the GAP and Extended options even after you bought the car, it's only 2 letters away.

Hope this helps

This post is some the reasons I hate stealerships. Lol, they use your credit score as a bargaining tool. You made the grevious error of bargaining on the monthly payment. Monthly payment should NOT be discussed until you've made your deal on the price of the car. Also, did you even research how much the car ca go for in your area or did you just go to the stealer and let your emotions ride? ALSO, many stealers will sell you a 3RD party extended warranty instead of a GENIUNE honda warranty. If you think honda's warranty policies are already a PITA, wait until you have to deal with a 3rd party warranty claim to fix a problem. If you still want an extended warranty, get one from places like myhondawarranty.com which will sell you a 8 YEAR/ 120,000 mile GENIUNE HONDA extended warranty for $915! (They even have 0% 1 year financing) Please cancel the rest of the doodads they sold you. When you go in tommorow, they're going to offer you lower prices on the warranty and other stuff. Stick with them for the extended warranty if they sell you one from honda and are willing to match the $915 price.

I couldn't get a loan from my bank for the car because of my credit score. We were discussing the monthly payments after the sales person settled on 21k out the door. I looked at the 4 dealers in my area and they still go for 19-20K msrp. Now that you mention it, looking at the extended warranty contract, the top part is ripped off where the name of the warranty company should be. It just says the address (175 west jackson blvd chicago, il) and in the back under key terms it says quote: "we", "us" and "our" mean automotive warranty services, inc. unquote. I should probably bring this up when trying to cancel this crap tomorrow. damn it.
