The only reason my parents paid for most of my car is because I got a scholarship to college and because when I go to college im not going to live on campus, im coming home at night. So I need a reliable car to get me there and back anyway. And they save alot of money every year like that. So after all of it they end up spending alot less

ROFL, just turned 20 today btw!
But I was 19 when I bought my 07 Si on my own.
Once I turned 16 I been paying everything on my own, yes even hair cuts and groceries.
But It has made me responsible with my money.

Off to my b-day dinner at the Spaghetti factory!

I just purchased my 08 Si coupe w/navi last week and I'm paying for it myself. I had my parents co-sign for a better interest rate since I have no credit (which is bullshit). I put 5K down and financed the rest. I will be paying the payments and insurance. I am fortunate though that I can still be on their insurance which saves me a ton. My insurance is $89/month. It actually went down a quarter from my 02 RSX-S. I also am self-sufficient in all other aspects. I suppose I ought to be since I am 24, graduated, and been in the working world for a year now.

I second what was said earlier. All you guys living at home, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. I've heard from many people that my rent is cheap and it's $405/month. Thats more than my car payment! I could pay my car off in two years if I didn't have to pay rent.

I make payments on my SI monthly and pay for gas and whatnot. My parents take care of the insurance for me. I'm 19 and in college, I'm not gonna sweat it

Agreed! If you are fortunate enough to have help, make GOOD use of it (but don't abuse it)!

Turns out that Geico stands for Government Employee insurance company and I get a discount for being federal employee.

I'm 23 and recently graduated from college. I was a poor college student and couldn't afford my own car.

I want to see who else out there pays for your own cars and how old are you?

Me!

Bought my Si sedan when I was 24. I am now 25. Insurance went down like $60 bcuks so that was pretty exciting considering Im just getting older. I bought my car as a reward to myself...sort of. Ordered it before they were released. I was lucky I guess and started my career 3 months after finishing college. I bought it with the letter from my company stating what my sallary is, since I did not have any paystubs etc cuz I hadn't started yet.

Im 22 and just bought my 2008 FBP SI Sedan a month ago, no cosign needed either. Talked the dealer down to $20,300 and I'm loving. Before this car I had a 97 thunderbird (parents helped) and a 93 Stealth Twin Turbo that I just sold to my brother.

I didn't even plan on buying this thing, My dad went to the dealership to buy my mom a 2008 civic hybrid and called me and said "Hey they got a really nice SI sitting up here"... Well 3 hours later I was filling out paper work and I woke up that morning not even CONSIDERING buying a car.. Im glad I did :)

Mad props to you, it's a nice feeling isn't it?

second new car in the last 6 months, first one (2007 CR-V) was applied for under my wife's name (I co-signed for her). Our second one (2008 Si Sedan) was applied for under my name... didn't need my wife to co-sign for me, though we applied for the loan jointly.

I'm 24, she's 25.

My first car (1998 Civic Dx) was bought certified used for $10k, paid for by me when I was 19.

My parents didn't have the money to just hand me stuff. Hopefully, my daughter will have the same work ethic

In the BBQ world....you use a BBQ pitt to cook all the meat a.k.a. a "smoker". The pitt boss is the person that is in-charge of cooking the meat, cleaning and maintaining the pitt's/Smoker's and is basically the executive chef of the resturant if you will. I over see the line cooks as well.

Im going to Johnson and Wales next year to study Culinary arts.
