It's doable, but for practical reasons and everyday driving most people SHOULD be able to get around 25mpg. I fill up my tank around 250-280 miles, with about 2 bars left usually. 11 gallons or so |

I got 389 miles on my last tank. I was scared, the light was on for a while and it didnt have any bars on the guage. I didnt have an option, both of the gas stations that i use during my comute were close due to some major inspection or something.
I am usually averaging 31.8 MPG |

Shifting is a small factor. low rpm and high load (foot to the floor) is just as bad as higher rpm with low load. Gas pedal position will determine how good of gas mileage you get. If you're that worried about gas mileage, trade it in for a honda fit! lol j/k!

I've had my car for 2 months and I've filled up 2 times (not counting that it was full when I picked it up at dealer) and I'm averaging about 17 MPG on my 2008 si Sedan and I never hit vtec and shift at 3500 RPM every gear change. I do highway miles mostly too and when i drive in town it's maybe for 5 minutes.. nothing to kill the gas.. So far Im EXTREMELY dissapointed in the gas mileage but hell, it's better than my twin turbo stealth, it averages about 10mpg on a granny driving and WOT i can watch the gas gauge fall on the stealth, it's sad.
Overall i figure 17-20 MPG on an SI is average, I'm also in WV so alot of hills and crap. |

I really hope my Si Sedan gives me much more than that on the dailiy |

I just filled up my tank, and with 100% city driving, I got just over 25 MPG. It's starting to warm up here though, when it was colder(10-20) I was getting about 20-21 MPG. |

20 bars if im correct...it was a long drive from IL to NM
Something i did notice though is when i was filling up with 91 octane down in texas/new mexico, my fuel mileage was around 26 mpg. But, when i was getting closer here in Illinois, with 93 octane, i got 28 mpg....coincidence? |
